Hey guys,
I have a 2013 s5, and over the winter it started a very quiet clicking when pulling out of my parking spot at work (forward with slight rt turn)
As the winter has tried to wind down (we are getting snow again today lol) the clicking as gotten at least a little worse, not terrible but worse...
I assumed it was a CV going bad and crawled under it this afternoon... All 8 CVs are dry and don't appear to have cracks... I don't see any geese spray or wetness on or around any of the CVs...
The clicking sounds just like a CV going bad, speed of clicking increases with speed, but goes away once I am up to maybe 10mph... The only other symptoms I have noticed, not sure if it's related, is that at highway speed I get what sounds like a tire our of balance (kind of like a tire wobbling at high-speed sound, tread changing pitch on the road) this was first noticed after getting new tires and I have had the dealer rebalance the tires 3 times with no change...
Has anyone had something similar?
I don't have access to a lift so it is harder to look at it, but with a jack and flashlight I don't see anything....
Is it possible for a CV to go bad without the boot going? If so what's the best way to diagnose that...
