Whats my car worth?

Hey guys, thinking of parting ways with my car but have no idea what to price it at. Its a 05.5 S4 with 44.5k miles. OEM B7 RS4 widebody, JHM Headers, JHM Stage 2 S/C, Forged rods & pistons, timing chain was done by previous owner when building engine (aprox. 2-3k miles ago). ECS front BBK & custom rear BBK. PSS9 coils. ADV1 wheels. What would be a fair price for it? Pics attached because who doesn't like pictures lol

That car is freaking awesome. If it were mine, I would want 22k for it and I feel like I might be a little light. It's a tough call because you start to get into RS4 territory price wise.

My thought is the car with chains done at that mileage is worth 15-16k, plus all of the awesome mods ends up in the low to mid twenties somewhere. But then there's the color and just the general awesomeness of the way that car looks, so someone will fall in love with it and pay whatever they are willing to pay to own it. There is definitely a huge gray area price wise when it comes to your car because it's so unique.

I've been shopping for a B7 S4/RS4 for a while now and haven't seen one so nice with such low miles. Stock RS4's with this kind of mileage are fetching near $35k on BaT, and judging by the couple pics, this S4 is way nicer than many of them. This is still just an S4 and is heavily modded though... the pool of people willing to pay what's it worth is very limited.

If I saw it for sale for $30k I'd think that's appropriate. Don't take a penny less than $25k.

Thanks for the comments. Another question, shipping from Puerto Rico to the states will probably be $1k minimum. Not sure if i should just list locally or list here and ebay, etc. Never had to pay for shipping a car so don't know how many people are willing to do that?

PO did the the S/C. Did stage 1 first, then did Pauter Rods & JE Pistons locally and did the intercooler and pulley upgrade and whatever else was needed.

25K at least.

Thanks. Yeah $30k is about what i was thinking. There are only like 2-3 RS4 here in Puerto Rico and i haven't seen one for sale so its tough to gauge the market on them here.

Isn't the 1+ just a stage 1 with intercooler? My car has a different pulley than the stage 1. It hits 9psi, maybe not the same as the stage 2?

This is not a full stage 2 car. It’s stage 1+ or 1.5 whatever you want to call it, but not stage 2. The block is not sleeved...

Nonetheless it’s a very unique built S4. Best bet would be to put it up on BAT. I think that’s your best bet of getting top dollar for it. You’re going to be competing directly with RS4s pricewise and we all know it’s a completely different beast.

My issue with it being called a JHM stage 2 setup is you don’t have a JHM built block and you’re running a bigger pulley with a slightly different tune. Also, calling it a JHM stage 2 might get you an unrealistic idea of what you can sell it for in addition to confusing a buyer as to what you actually have; check out Mr. Corey’s post. I’d be pretty pissed if I bought a car that was supposed to be a JHM stage 2 setup when it’s actually a 1.5. Some may say that’s splitting hairs, but I want to know what I’m buying when I make a purchase. Also, for reference, my JHM stage 2 S4 hits 13psi.

lol thanks. I think the biggest difference between stage 1 to 1+ is the intercooler and obviously the built engine with stage 2. The rest of the changes i think are minor. There is a pretty large bump in power between all the stages tho.

This is not a full stage 2 car. It’s stage 1+ or 1.5 whatever you want to call it, but not stage 2. The block is not sleeved...

Haven't listed it yet. Someone keyed my hood recently so im waiting to have that fixed before i list it. Thinking right around $30k-$32k seems reasonable. Seems about 5-8k less than RS4's with similar milage.

I think you should ask for $35k and go from there. Make sure you list the entire mod list. It’ll take an enthusiast purchaser, but I think you should do fairly well.
