    Grille suggestions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, waiting behind a lady to get into a parking garage. She could not get her card to work. I watched her get more and more frustrated until finally she just slammed it into reverse and backed right into me. I saw it coming but someone was behind me by that time so by the time I looked back and got on the horn she was already hitting me.

Most of damage is to grille, and it needs to be replaced (we were on an incline so her rear bumper was higher than my front).

My question: should I get a better-looking after-market grille? If so, what one? I've noted lots of these threads but would like to avoid a long search of the forum if there are folks who have a suggestion.

    Requirements:
    Not too crazy expensive
Looks better than original (hate those grey fillers against my black car)
No crazy mods required to install.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! Pics welcome of course, or links to pics.

I’ve got the Quattro grille from eBay, seller stonecarbon2009. Took about 2 weeks once it was shipped. I love it, good fit and looks good. Can get a silver one if you’d like versus the gloss black. I will say if you do go this route, it comes with tacky RS badges...either swap your old ones over or grab a set. Comes with chrome rings though. It was about $190 which isn’t much

Assuming her or her insurance is paying for all of your repairs get them to quote an OE grill replacement and cut you a check for that. If you end up wanting an RS style grille buy one and keep the extra cash.

When I hit my deer I went with the rs4 grill. Prices vary from like 150-300ish. You could probably find some for significantly more though. Mines a b8 but you get the idea. Just google images like b8.5 rs4 grill and you’ll see it on all kinds of specs

What year is your S4? I think the B8 & B8.5 have different shaped grilles.

+1. Although prefer the silver Audi rings to match mirrors. Good looking grille.

Yeah I just haven’t tried to put the silver ones back on. Didn’t feel like pulling bumper. Might be putting them on when I pull the bumper off to install the plate holder. Unfortunately have to have front plates in Germany. Probably wrapping the mirrors black or grabbing the carbon covers from

You didn't specify whether you had a B8 or b8.5

    But this: https://www.audiworld.com/g/picture/1085569

    or this:https://www.audiworld.com/g/picture/1208263

B8 filler plate is painted the body color. B8.5 uses Trimbrite black out tape but could also be painted. Neither is expensive and IMHO,both are the best alternative, especially if you are not a fan of the RS4 style grill like me.

I know the b8 is/was yours but that paint matched filler plate is horrifying. Black optics grille would look 100000000x better.

You are welcome to your opinion IMHO, the gray filler plate looks hideous as well as the RS4 type grill

Are there different widths, if so which is the correct one?
    Thanks....

There is only one width and it is the perfect size for the grill. May need to do a slight amount of trimming with a razor knife at each end. Very little . Use a small needle if you get a small air bubble. Should take less than 1 hr to do.
