    Question about K04 hybrid

I tried searching about this turbo kit but couldn't see anyone running it with a B7. The borgwarner K04 is like $3000 but the one ECS is selling a K04/hybrid for $1600... That seems a little cheap for it being brand new. It says horsepower "UP" too 355 HP and 347lbs torque. Is anyone running this turbo or can explain to me the differences between the hybrid one and the normal one. Also what are real KO4 numbers in hp and tq thats been verified?

I believe HPA claims this turbo will make “up to” 355hp, but I think you have to use their intake manifold to get there and that’s not at the wheels.

Your average K04 is going to make 270-280 WHP with the usual bolt on supporting mods going from the dyno sheets and videos I’ve seen online.

And Borg Warner K04-064’s aren’t 3 grand. APR’s is. You can pick up a legit BW 064 for 1500 by itself or CTS Turbo’s kit which includes all the pluming you’ll need plus a downpipe and install hardware for 2200.

HPA’s turbo looks very similar to JHM’s turbo minus the black ceramic coating JHM uses. Both of these kits use the factory DV location, which the BW K04 does not. Maybe they source their housings from the same place? That’s just a guess though.
