    Carbon Y pipe 034motorsport

So, i bought this carbon Y-pipe. But after a closer inspection I saw that the inside of the pipe isn't smooth at all.
Can this cause some unwanted effect on the airflow? The diameter is bigger than standard, so it should be better with the CAI that I also bought from 034 motorsport.
But I seriously have my doubts now. your opinion on this?

Are there pieces coming off on the inside? It looks weird.

Interesting. I would have thought they would have “finished” the inside with a clear or sanding considering the cost.

I don’t think turbulent flow past the MAF has a great effect on engine performance. In fact turbulent air-fuel mixtures burn faster, but I’m not an engine designer so I’m not sure what the effect is in combustion engines

I'm not an engineer either but the air has plenty of tie to smooth out before it hits the turbos. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

If I were you I would just resell it as the OEM RS4 Y-pipe is more than enough for even 850bhp :)

Yes, there will be more drag than an otherwise smooth surface. More pressure drop will push up the PR and result in less efficient operation of the system. The real question is whether the roughness is great enough to make a meaningful difference.

    Carbon Y pipe 034motorsport

Thanks for the input! I think I’m going to use the stock Y-pipe. But I will test both Y-pipes on Hp, throttle response etc.. I will post the specs here. Must finish the engine first
