Upgraded fuel pump advice needed please.

All the rest of the stuff I need to take full advantage of my JHM K04R should be arriving this week and I'm getting pretty excited for track nights. My Billy Boat cat back, JHM small core FMIC and Devil's Own meth kit should all be here by mid week next week. One thing I feel I may have overlooked is LP fueling.

Do you guys think a 255 LPH fuel pump would be a wise upgrade or does the stock pump work well enough for that fuel demand?

If this is true what benefit would something like JHM’s 255 fuel pump upgrade have? Is the pump in their kit just more efficient?

Thanks for answering so far guys. I’m not too well versed on the fueling side of these cars.

A healthy stock fuel pump is fine. An old tired one may not be. I needed an rs4 lpfp controller in conjunction with a stock lpfp (6 months old) when I was running a k04.

I guess that’s what I’m trying to find out. If that kit would really benefit me. I’ll have to call Dru and talk about it or if anyone has any more experience to share, I’m all ears too.

I just want my car to be as optimal as it can be. I’m this far along what’s another 300 bucks, right? 😂

And if this will set me up for the future if I do decide to put rods in and get a more aggressive tune, that’s even better.

I would just upgrade the LPFP and be done with it. I’m stage 3 and I’m on my 3rd LPFP. I get the occasional P301B code with occasional fuel hiccups around 4,000RPMS. I have a the upgraded JHM LPFP waiting to go in, gonna order the RS4 controller and I shouldn’t ever have to touch the low side again. Replacing one of the fuel lines too because I hacked up the one connector last time I replaced the pump, it’s not gonna come off clean this time I know it....

My car pulls pretty consistently. No fuel cuts for me at WOT fortunately. I’ll probably just do it anyway next month or by the end of summer for sure.

Some of the LPFP controllers have been confirmed (by Torqbyte) to only reach 62% duty cycle. This could result in fuel cuts on a stage 2+ tune also. I will need to find the part number for this to help you.
