Did anyone encounter this issue lately and was able to determine and fix it? A DIY Instruction will be of great help.

    Thanks in advance!

A coworker had this issue on her Pontiac G6 and what happened was there is a drain tube that runs from the sunroof area under the headliner and down and out of the vehicle to remove excess water around the sunroof. There was a connector that kept breaking or coming loose. I'm not sure if our cars use the same system but it would be the first thing I would check.

We had a b8.5 in for a wet headliner. It ended up being the passenger side water drain from the sun roof. Headliner was replaced along with the curtain air bag ignitor since it was all rusted.
To drop the headliner; get a nice trim removal tool and I believe a T30 torx. Remove the A and B and C pillars. Remove all four grab handles (a 90° pick works really well. Open the sun glasses holder thingy and take the torx screw out of it. Unplug all the connections from the map light and sunroof thing. Remove the sun visors and clips. The head liner will now be free to come down

My B7 had a wet headliner at one point. Turned out one of the rear sunroof drains had disconnected slightly from the sunroof pan (it's a ball-like connection the tube fits over). Used some clear silicone to seal it once it was reattached and never leaked again.

Most likely a clogged sunroof drain.

This is the first place to look. The rear drains exit near the top front of the rear wheel well, under the liner. Pull back the well liner and check to see if the rubber drain nipple is clogged or stuck closed. If it's OK, then it's the connection at the sunroof where the drain tube connects to the sunroof connector nipple, under the headliner.

Yep. You can also try to run some weed eater line through it to see if you can clear any clogs that may exist in the tube.

Thank you all for the inputs. I did not have the chance to delve into this problem yet but I will surely put my findings here.
