    Lease Return

I turned my leased A3 back in to Audi in February, I struck a deal on the BMW and they gave me my remaining payments on the Audi and the disposition fee to pay it off. A day later I saw the car advertised by the Audi dealer I turned the car into, and two days after that it was sold.

I just received the turn in settlement invoice and all that is on there is A state excise tax I owe (MA resident) and no disposition fee. Has anyone had this situation before where one wouldn’t be charged?

That makes no sense. If they purchased the car from vw credit there's no remaining payments as they have paid off the loan. Sounds like they worked the deal as if they were going to eat the rest of the lease and realized it was better to buy it out.

When I turned in the lease at the dealer I was asked if I wanted to pay the disposition fee that day. I said no just bill me on the final statement. I had just had the inspection that morning and was not worried about about any other charges popping up just figured I would let them wait for it. Why pay that now? I am really happy that they didn’t charge because I got the $ from BMW to pay it. So it’s $350 in my pocket.

They have no affiliation with vw credit to accept your dispo fee. Also, there's no dispo fee if they buy the car which seems like they did.

I had six payments left. So I called and maid the six payments to bring the lease to zero with the check from BMW.

Sounds like a cluster fuck. I would find out what the dealer buyout was and if that dealer bought it out. And if so at what number... Ive been in the auto retail business for 8 years, we would never logistically close a loan out like that. Unprofessional.

All my leases have been either VW or Audi so this is the 1st time I have ever had to deal with a disposition fee. All I know is my car is turned in, the balance is $0 on the lease, my final invoice has no disposition fee and I have an extra $350 in my pocket.

If you have the account closing statement in your hand you're good.
