VelocityAP B8 Audi S4 Progresive Rate Lowering Springs

    Hello Everyone,

We recently joined Audizine as a sponsor, having created a couple of products like our RS5 Burble tune that took off: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ble-Tune-VIDEO

In addition to our own in house ECU Tuning, and exhaust manufacturing we also offer our own unique line of progressive rate lowering springs. It started out almost by accident - we had customers fitting H&R Springs to Aston Martin Vantages, and complaining that the drop was too low, and that they experienced a 'Pogo' effect, which was essentially a spring rate too strong for the damper. So the car would bounce over bumps and dips and not settle quickly. We found a manufacturer with a very unique process - the spring rod is drawn and tapered before coiling to produce a true progressive spring rate. We also targeted a sensible and moderate drop - enough to see and feel the difference but not so much that damper function was compromised. For the Vantage it was 7/8", or 22mm.

I will admit, I was skeptical of how much difference the tapered coil would actually make, but the feedback was incredible. Fast forward 4 years and we now have a full line up for Aston, Jaguar, McLaren, Audi R8, Lamborghini Huracan, Gallardo and Lotus. These are not the cheapest spring options out there, they are not for hardcore trackday guys. But what they do, they do very well - a moderate and practical drop, and SUPERB ride quality.

We managed to hook up with Ramin from Goldrush Rally and work on something special for the B8 S4. just signed off of the prototypes, and will be going into production soon. Launch special to follow.

TOTAL DROP: 1/2" front, 3/4" Rear

Has anyone here tried these springs yet with Bilstein sport shocks?

Funnily enough, we will be doing this ourselves in a few weeks. Chris (Tuning@VelocityAP) who is our Software Engineer & head of Technical has a B8 S4 and he is putting these Springs on when his dampers arrive.

While I'm sure the springs are fantastic and the price is reasonable where you're going to struggle selling these is at your drop level. I've only seen people want less than an inch of drop once or twice and they wanted more than a half inch drop. Do you have any plans of developing springs that are 1.1 inches drop or greater? That's where you would get attention from here. Standard ride height for these cars are jacked up on stilts.
