    Hey guys,

Some PVC tubing or a fitting is leaking in my engine bay. Its on the driver's side of the car, behind the valve cover. I replaced the valve cover gasket a couple of years ago, so that shouldn't be the source of the leak. Any idea what this is called and where I can order it from?

    Thanks a lot,

Thats part of your PCV system (as far as I can tell from the picture). My bet is that line is cracked which is pretty common on these cars now. The PCV system is pretty intricate on our motor and leaks will cause issues with misfires and such. I'd suspect your PCV itself is likely worn out and not working, perhaps causing an issue with press (negative or positve) in the crank case. FWIW, playing with that PCV on this motor is no fun as its all jammed back there. Lots of us have replaced the system with heater hose to save money, as the replacements were pricey, but now there not. What gives!

The OEM parts are expensive, but there have been cheap knock-offs on ebay for some time, but I can't speak to their quality of effectiveness. Most feel the heater hose mod is the better way to go.

But something interesting came up recently when 19jdog was posting about his cam seals. A diagram he posted showed the crankcase hose connector (#11) that we reuse as part of the mod, and if you look at #10, there are O-rings inside the connectors that are supposed to be replaced. I know I didn't do this and still have leaks.
