    B7 front suspensions question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have installed Vogtland sport suspension kit, not coilovers.
The flat side of the springs perch should it face inward or outward or it doesn’t matter.

Anyone can have a look on his setup and let me know please ?

I have posted the same in another thread, planing to work on the car today so was hoping for some answers.

I don't think it will affect very much, as the spring won't be moving in that direction. But I do think you have it backwards, as I'm not sure why a manufacture would put that cutout on the outside of the perch.

what I noticed is the vogtland logo sticker is facing inward so I guess I should turn them, don’t see how that will make a difference ...

well even though a spring is circular, the bottom point would still be transferring the force. might be a small difference but its probably not negligible

Can't imagine you'll notice any difference in either direction.

Just dug some old pics I took when I swapped my control arms, actually the flat bit is facing inward, there should be a reason why.
Huh anyway knowing how our cars are pita when you don’t follow instructions, I better rotate them.

Have replaced the upper faulty arm
Mounted the suspensions in the correct direction (flat side of the spring perch facing inward) if that eve matters
And now I have this noise

Hard to tell for sure, but since it is new then has to be related to something you touched since fixing the other issue. Otherwise could be anything associated with steering, steering rack, inner or outer tie rods.

Those are the OE tie rods, I guess they are shot. Never been replaced but looks ok and feels tight, there is no play.
How I can test them please.

To test condition of inner tie rods you have to remove the outer rods and if the inner rod does not hold its position and flops down, it's bad.

    Fixed

It was the spring, I rotated it by hand Without removing the assembly until it felt tight in place, and then went for a drive.

It was a suggestion from a member, I’m thankful.

    Thanks guys

Hope this is the end of the issues for NOW.

(but found another issue while I was renewing my car warrant of fitness, the rear brake hoses are both cracked)
