    Zip tied brake cooling ducts?

I may have missed this in other threads, do all the cars come with brake cooling ducts zip tied from factory? Saw these when we raised the car to test fit wheels today.

Mine has it. Older RS3s don't. Not sure when they started adding it.

A lot of people think you want to race, when in reality, you just have to motor home because Chipotle.

Ah, good to know these were added. I believe these are OEM Audi Sport parts. Definitely available for TTRS as well. I will be replacing my rotors next week, so don't care about the thicker veins, but good to know these are preinstalled.

Glad to see these on the car, apparently you can modify R8 ones as well.

Zipties are SOP for brake ducts, sometimes the simple solution is the most reliable.

At least the ducts have proper placeholders for the zipties.

I think if you are going to track the car more cooling couldn’t hurt, if not then I don’t think you need them.

TT RS lower control arms are aluminum but they appear as if they will still fit.
I ordered them $30 a piece and 1.58 per zip tie. Not bad, worth trying.

I just ordered as well, but I was under the impression that they came with the zip ties. Did you hear otherwise?

They do. They contacted me to tell me they will delete them off the order. The zip ties are backordered anyway and it turns out he doesn't have both sides in US so it's going to be a couple weeks.

Zipties are better than double sided tape!

The engineers wanted to save weight. LOL

The audi one's are probably more efficient than the aftermarket because I'd expect they were designed to work, not to just get your money.
The zipties are located properly in the design so they mount in the right location and don't move around.

This place is probably the best online. They have good customer service and good prices on OEM
    https://www.audiusaparts.com/

They didn't have them in stock but got them quicker then they suggested from Germany. They are supposed to arrive today.

Shit I ordered from some dealer in CA...it came out cheaper than ECS but shipping wasn't free....
Are you guys just jacking up each side and putting it on, or are you popping off wheel too?

Theoretically, you could install with the wheel on but it's probably more of a pain in the ass that way, can't see what you are doing and it limits movement.
I did this today on my TT RS. The control arms are aluminum but I figured I'd try it. The only real difference is they are thinner (in height) but I was able to install just had to flex he plastic to get them tight.

For the RS3 the install is really easy because of the mount for the ride height sensor the ducts are self-locating. If any is looking for more pics I put them in the MK3 thread I started.
