    Blackvue with Sandisk problem?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I got a blackvue dr550 recently and it was working great, but then all of a sudden it just freezes, lights are on but not recording/no WiFi. I reflashed firmware and worked for a few days and then died again.

I’m using the Sandisk high endurance 64gb card. I now people had problems with the regular cards, but this was suppose to be compatible...Before I go try getting a blackvue brand card, has anyone seen this issue? Hoping it’s not the camera itself!

    Thanks in advance!

Mine also freezes here and there. Girls voice comes on and says please check the sd card. At first it was annoying now I just unplug the device and re-plug it. Doesn’t work 100% of the time but it works.

I know for a fact that any sd card larger then 32GB was causing the camera to freeze. Tried both 64 and 128GB and no luck. Went back to the blackview sd card.

On a side note they do recommend to format the sd card once a month.

    Good luck.

Usually, it is an issue with write speeds. Either get a Class 10 SD card or turn the quality on the video down.

Here is what I run in my dashcam: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013TMNPBQ/

Yea I looked into that before buying. I got this(20mb/s):

SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring Card with Adapter 64GB (SDSDQQ-064G-G46A) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V5Q1N1I..._kRaXAbF5NQCPA

    Blackvue with Sandisk problem?

Question before I give advice. Did you bring a dashcam SD card question to this Audi board vs a dash cam board or BlackVue forum because you own an S4? Seems kind of like going to a Bang and Olufsen forum and asking questions about a sport diff because your car has a B&O system...

Having said that, you’re going to need High Endurance cards as you have figured out. I have experienced that SanDisk has had failure for my dash cams. If you’re not going to pay for the BlackVue card (and you want to void your BV warranty), Transcend or Lexar is the way to go. However, there has been success on the Tesla boards with the SanDisk. Your mileage may vary.

Hah, I was writing from my phone and couldn’t find the right thread, I guess this one showed up since I’ve posted before. My bad!

Might just pick up BV card, thanks!

    No worries. Just busting chops.

I did for my 750s-2ch and it’s worked very well. It was a 64GB that was as expensive as a 128GB transcend (I believe), but it’s worth it for the piece of mind that it’s been tested to work in this camera in Dashcam conditions around the world.

heres a good read on sd cards https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/57805/

get the transcend. you dont want to have put all the money into a dashcam only have the card be corrupt when you need to pull the file.
