    Modified APR/Corsa Exhaust Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I picked up a used APR/Corsa exhaust from a fellow B8 owner. He had it modified after the 1st resonators by the cats down, removing the central muffler and replacing it with straight pipes to the cans in the back.

My car is a manual and when rolling through the gears casually it sounds fantastic. But at full throttle, it's fairly obnoxious to my ears with LOUD rasp. If I were to put in the center muffler that was removed, will that change the sound at WOT? Or is the sound at WOT the way these APR/Corsa exhausts typically sound?

I don't have any drone thankfully.. so I'm wondering if that central muffler affected drone more or full WOT wound.

I have the full Corsa system (w/6mt) and I wouldn't use the term "rasp" to describe any of the sounds it makes. As for WOT noises, the video clip on the Corsa website is a pretty good depiction of the sound, if u listen with headphones (other than the DSG "shift-fart" sounds made on each gear change).

I actually think putting a magna flow part#12468 or #14468 where the old center muffler was would deepen the tone even more and make it sound KILLER!

I have one.. my old setup was the stock exhaust with magnaflow xpipe and straight pipes to the stock cans. Sounded wonderful... Just not deep. The installer mentioned the same thing today in what you said.. good call @EstorilS4

HAHAHA.. OMG this thing is ridiculously loud! Just drove it again tonight. Back in my late 20's early 30's I would have loved it. Now in my late 30's, its just too insane for me! I've had aftermarket exhausts on all of my cars, this thing is just plain wicked at full throttle.

1/4 throttle sounds great.. nice growl. At 1/2 throttle I start shaking my head laughing. At full throttle, I just stare at the rear-view mirror for flashing lights.

I think he took the APR exhaust and did a custom xpipe from the cats into the two APR resonated downpipes, then straight pipe eliminating the center muffler onto the two rear APR mufflers at the bumper.

I want to keep the growl and tame the WOT wail. Will schedule an appointment for Friday to get this under control. Any ideas welcome.

The full corsa exhaust isn’t crazy loud, maybe get the missing piece from them?
