i thought about it, but the blackvue 750 front and rear ended up being a better option both price wise and performance.

Yeah Blackvue is good too but wiring looks messy to me. I like to go Audi as it has integrated wiring and radar based recording as well and no magic box needed!

Can you post a link to the camera?

I have the BlackVue 750 front/rear and my old 650gw on left and right side of my Q7. Didn’t know audi had a cam. The BlackVue is fantastic and can be done cleanly. I have mine right below rear view mirror running in the conduit. Looks good. Back comes out the top of my hatch and you just seem a small wire as I needed it low enough to be in my windshield wiper cleaning area.

what messy wiring? Its literally one fuse tap thats it. the beauty of the BV is the magic pro which you can record run time in a number of different ways. I only ever see myself upgrading for the new 4k BV set to release end of the year.

Just making sure you saw the first video you linked in your original post... The only thing wireless about this Audi solution is the front-end connectivity to the mobile app. Otherwise you're doing a lot of R&R to install this setup.

Oh yeah obviously but all are going in to Audi plugs and sockets. No wire laying and fuse tapping or battery issues as its based on motion sensor.

I really like the look of this camera. Really matches the overall look of the rear view mirror housing. Price is a bit high and a quick search on EBay shows prices as low as $480. Audi should really include such a camera with their tech packages. If they can embed the camera into the same housing as the mirror next to the light and rain sensor that would be awesome. I think I'll pay the $500 if it were a factory installed option.

It has both front and rear set and 490 is only front camera. Yeah, its pricey as Pound to USD conversion adds up and shipping is included.

I bought the Blackvue for my S5, and ended up posting a thorough review online at Nick's Car Blog:

I'm not in the market for a dashcam, by that was an entertaining review to read.
And that pic brings back happy memories of a time when I used to be manly, lol!
