We're pleased to announce the availability of our new Billet + Spherical Dogbone Mounts for 8V Audi A3/S3 & RS3!

034Motorsport's Billet + Spherical Dogbone Mount for 8V Audi A3/S3 & RS3 is the new standard in performance and durability. This dogbone mount was engineered with performance in mind, manufactured from billet aluminum and stainless steel, and features a genuine Aurora Spherical Bearing to maintain proper articulation and reduce NVH transfer. The Billet + Spherical Dogbone Mount is machined and assembled in-house, designed to eliminate the slop associated with the factory mount, and will better withstand the forces generated by hard launches.

The result is a locked-down drivetrain, crisper shifting, and virtually no wheel hop. The Motorsport Dogbone Mount will cause some increase in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) inside of the cabin.

This upgrade was extensively track-tested on 034Motorsport's MkVII Volkswagen GTI & 8V Audi S3 before release.

    Features:
    • Bolt-In Performance Upgrade for Factory Dogbone Mount
    • Reduced Drivetrain Slop & Engine Movement Under Load
    • More Direct Power Transfer & Improved Shifting Feel
    • Increased Strength & Improved Durability vs. Factory Part
    • T6-6061 Billet Aluminum Body
    • 303 Stainless Steel Spacers
    • Genuine Aurora Spherical Bearing
    • Rebuildable Design
    • New Factory Stretch Bolts Included!

    Application Guide:
    • 2015 - Present Audi A3/S3/RS3 (8V - MQB)
    • 2016 - Present Audi TT/TTS/TTRS (MkIII - MQB)
    • 2015 - Present Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R (MkVII - MQB)

I've been wondering, if this drive train movement ("slop", as it's sometimes referred to) is reduced, then that energy must get transferred elsewhere along the suspension/frame. How much added stress does it potentially add to these other parts?

I've had my dogbone mount installed for almost a year and I really like it, but sometimes I feel like it's putting added stress to other parts that may or may not be designed to handle it -- especially at cold starts.

Any cause for concern, and is there a way to mitigate?

Good question! The main reason that the factory mounts have as much movement in them as they do is to lessen the transfer of NVH - noise, vibration, and harshness - into the cabin.

This is done to increase occupant comfort, and ultimately results in further isolating the driver from what the car is doing. The factory mounts aren't engineered the way they are to reduce stress on other components, and many of these components are solid-mounted in racing applications, where NVH transfer is not a concern.

The 034Motorsport Dogbone Mount Insert, Density Line Mounts, and Billet Aluminum Dogbone Mount still allow for enough movement to lessen NVH transfer into the cabin, but allow for a more engaging driving experience and less wheel hop.

Another good thing about upgrading the mounts is they can expedite the revealing of your failing Haldex pump before the warranty runs out.
