    13 S6 P2096 & P2196 Codes

I am getting codes P2096 & P2196. And the dealer is trying to blame the Milltek cat-back and the RS7 airbox + intake tubes. I think there is an exhaust leak or faulty O2 sensor.

Am I missing something? There is no MAF on the 4.0 TT, so it can't be oil contamination on the sensor. The airbox is properly sealed & no obvious vacuum leaks.

    Thanks

I'm sure dasquerade had the same faults and it turned out to be a leak. Check the exhaust see if there's some leak

I'm not 100% sure about the code if that was the same (and only had it once, but did had powercuts under midload).
It ended up beeing the bolts between the downpipes and milltek exhaust that came loose (milltek uses thick flex joints and those make it pretty hard to tighten the exhaust bolts. It ain't an excuse and one should always recheck them after a few drives after installing...
I would check those bolts just to be sure (and check good!)....
    Good luck :)

Thank you, I will look into the exhaust. It's only been on for about 2k. So it may need to be re tightened.

Hey Max ever figure this one out? Shop replaced the easy o2 sensors it seems. Should have been more attentive when they did the work but the issue came back.

Could be an exhaust leak. Is the cat running too hot?

Apparently there were some of 2013-2016 4.0T secondary O2 sensors with early failure, due to slow (rise /fall) response acording to this TSB: DTC for oxygen sensor after catalytic converter (P013E00, P014A00)

The ECU needs to see the proper secondary O2 sensors switching reponse relative to injector trim.

The primary O2 sensors, before the catalytic converters are Bosch LSU-4.9 wideband lambda O2 sensors.

Oxygen sensors won't code for a leak downstream of the oxygen sensor. It only monitors before and after catalytic converter. From your post it seems you only did a catback system, if you didnt touch downpipes, it's probably just faulty sensors. They usually start to throw heater or slow response codes around 60K miles

If you have access to a smoke machine that is the easiest way to find a leak if there is one upstream of the sensors

Had the same errors right after my Milltek exhaust was installed, within the first 100 miles. I took it back to the dealer (I had them install the exhaust) they just tightened up the clamps and reset the codes. They have not come back. Good luck.

I had a P2096 code for a couple days, when I filled up my fuel tank again it instantly went away. Have you refueled since getting the codes?

So I'm confident my issue is that they changed the wrong O2 sensors.

I also just ordered the wrong O2 sensors.

Will provide quick write up and I clear this up.

Anyone have updates on these issues? I threw some codes for lean and rich readings... car seems to be running fine but a small hiccup at idle sometimes... ill try and post pictures

My issue was the O2 sensor, the shop replaced the wrong side... i replaced the o2 sensor on the passenger side and all is well (the exhaust criss crosses).
