I just came upon this. The back story is here - https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud.../#post25132615

Although this was through Audi of USA, Audi Canada usually follows suit.
Apparently, under certain conditions, Audi will provide a Warranty Extension Reimbursement up to 10 years. The details are in that link above.
Engines affected in this particular case are 09-12 3.2L and 09-13 3.0T engines. It may be worth contacting Audi Canada if this plan also extends to the 2.0T and 4.2L engines as well.

I have this on my '10 S4, received the letter a while ago. Something about the secondary air intake on these two engines that is susceptible to buildup. Nothing to do with the buildup on the intake valves.

This is not carbon cleaning of intake valves. This is specifically for the 3.0T and 3.2L Engines that flip a CEL that flip a P0401 and P0402 SECONDARY AIR I SUFFICIENT AIRFLOW faults. Basicly the secondary air ports get full of carbon and require a cleaning. The cleaning is done with a high pressure washer and a special line and fitting to access the ports. Not a big deal just a bit time consuming.

I wonder if I can get this done as a preventative measure for my 3.2L even though I don't have a CEL and/or those codes coming up.

Just wait. 99% of the time... The light does come on. With that said, my dealer will do it with no CEL, and only 1 fault stored. Maybe your local dealer could do the same.

Never had a CEL but knew I was getting misfires during the first few minutes. Dealer saw the codes when I had the car in for a scheduled oil change under Audi Care and with CPO. They took care of the SAI cleaning at no cost for me.

Any ideas what the cost is at the dealer if paying out of pocket? I just got the SAI codes on my 2011 today... Most likely won't be covered by any extended warranty due to TD1

Ive had this done twice on my B8.5 S5, both covered under my SPO warranty. It is concerning tho that at 80K its needed it twice! I still have another couple years of the CPO warranty to cover but before it runs out I want a good clean out again! Im sure its not cheap out of pocket

just followup with audi of canada, I'm pretty sure that they will reimburse you for that as long as it was the SAI cleaning. how much did you pay for it anyways?

Do you actually have TD1 status? Or do you just have a tune installed?
