Driving / cruising on the highway, and the car hiccups, that’s the only word I can use to explain what is happening, literally it’s like a hiccup lol.

It is related to either ignition or fuel supply, not sure which or what part and scanning the car doesn’t give any clues.

    Any ideas ?

That’s never been done and was thinking if this is the cause.
Also I notice a cloud of black smoke when pushing it hard, which I rarely do since it is my daily driver and all what it sees is traffic, perfect for carbon build up.

Is there a good DIY around ?

Edit: never done carbon clean but looks straight forward

I have a similar issue. Seems like it only happens to me when I’m getting on the gas aggressively. I’m going to change my spark plugs soon but I’m thinking my issue may be fuel cut related.

It so much feels like fuel cut, but with those cars, it’s not always what you think lol.

When last time you changed them ?

I just sold a b7 and it had a very noticeable, but random hiccup that took awhile to track down. I also contributed it to fuel cut. I Replaced Filter, LPFP, already had a newer HPFP, Carbon clean, and follower.

Finally decided to replaced my Plugs which had 7k on them, problem solved.

I’m not sure what type of plug you used, but copper plugs are only rated for 5-10k miles. Easier thing to try.

    I used Bosch Platinum f6kpp332s.

What we should use : NGK 06H905601A ?

Well I guess this would be first attempt if I couldn’t find a solid lead on something else.

Reasons like this make eBay a piss-poor place to buy auto parts.

You're far better off at Rockauto or one of this sites advertisers.

I just had a similar hiccup and plugs fixed it. Old ones only had 8,000 miles but the car just didn't like them I guess. Also if considering carbon cleaning just wait till you replace the cam chain tensioner an chain. Once the intake cams out all the valves are closed and it's WAY faster to clean them all. At 130,000 miles I personally think the carbon clean gave me more power than going stage 2 on my car. Good luck

Have you ever changed your fuel filter? They are cheap and easy to replace.

You should probably change it. Some people say that it makes a buzzing noise when bad. You can try to hear it. But, It is cheaper. So won't hurt in changing it. If the problem is not solved then you can try changing the spark plugs.

Make sense actually and since I changed the plugs 2 years back, will try the filter.
    Thanks.

Same issue here. I changed plugs, coilpacks, fuel filter and cam follower with no impact. It looks to me like the issue is related to the LPFP as it runs a little higher than it should during idle and the cut only happens when I'm giving it WOT and in high RPMs. My car also smells like gas when I fuel it up, as in the whole car smells like gasoline for the first 100 miles or so.
