Did my cam follower the other day and follow the instructions that were previously posted by another member you know the one that tells you to depressurize the fuel system before you start messing with it? Turned out pretty easy and more trouble with the electrical connections and anything else and unfortunately the cam follower was toast drop the pressure from 52 less than 1.5 and was able to do with ease the cam does not look damaged so this must have just happened or happened a very very long time ago some slight discoloration on the cam but no Groove still feels smooth.
use the vag code 108 for fuel and then got intermittent firing from all four cylinders. turns out they were the original ignition coils and plugs and 145 k. Shish go figure never trust a brother-in-law who can't turn the wrench.

The first time is all about learning. You will have it down to 15!minutes in no time. I would check the new one next oil change , then every other oil change etc, until you are comfortable with inspection period and wear rate.
I have an 06 with no pressure relief valve, its no big deal To just crack the 17 mil nut with a rag
