00601 - Potentiometer On Positioning Motor for Central Flap (G112)
    09-00 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed

OK..first I am not sure why this is called a footwell flap and not a central AC flap motor..whatever..
I have bought another motor: Foot-well blend flap motor; white V70 (G112) -
8E2 820 511 C from Wolf on ebay......... and get the same result.

    1. Flaps seem to work fine and move smoothly the full range with motor out..and work properly.

    2. I have reset motors with VCDS and get first 7 spaces cleared to 0..not the 6 that the test suggests (clue?)

    3. Motor does not seem to rotate cam enough to move the flaps fully. It moves enough to spread the flap posts away (wide) from each other about 1/2" at most out of 2" of possible spread in defrost mode...but that may be temperature dependent...it closes the posts fine in AC mode.

    My thinking is that:
    1. Motor (cam) is not positioned properly when motor is installed...(what settings the ac needs to be in to get it on correctly are unclear..); so as to get full movement of the flaps.
    2. There is some HVAC setting that is wrong on my car and needs to be set in VCDS.
    3. Flap is somehow busted, putting up too much resistance for the motor to overcome or the linkage is broken/wrong.
    4. I am replacing the wrong motor..
    5. I have another bad motor....

If I have to, I will post on VCDS forum..but i hate how they ask you questions without cluing you in to what they are looking for or thinking....you can get stuff fixed without learning a damn thing.

This is my first internet find:

    Any ideas re welcome..
    Thanks in advance.

    Air filter: CU3037; 8E0819439

Note: If air quality sensor fails, V71/V113 may show a fail as well.
    Fix the air sensor first.

VCDS procedure to zero flaps and motors:
Place AC in Auto mode with engine on
    1. Controller 08 HVAC
    2. Basic settings 04
    3. Group 001
    4. GO!

Test will run and first six fields will be 000.
AC will resume when test is done.
Exit VCDS and turn key off
Wait a few minute and run HVAC system test.

Cam turns flaps fully when defrost is set and then back to AC..

If the fix doenst hold you may need to clean the trippots on the servo motors.

I may experiment with the "broken" motor while the glove compartment is out..

    Thanks.
