I'm being a little selfish by starting a thread instead of posting in an existing one, but I'm so happy with the look of my sports-sedan-with-a-backpack...and I really wanted to extend a note of thanks to our man, Mops. It took me forever to decide on a final spec and finish color for my BBS CI-R wheels. Through dozens of questions he gave patient, positive answers, and always responded in record time. No sales tactics, just solid, well-informed, experienced answers. The guy is a gem, and we are so lucky he's an Audi fan. I'm very glad the timing worked out that he introduced us to Nemesis Autosport just as the pieces of the puzzle came together for me. Kudos, Mops, and thank you. Here's wishing you great success.

Ok, enough huggy crap. Let's talk about my scooter. Wheels and tires have been on for five days, and today she got a proper spa treatment. The gloss & depth from the topper/sealant for the ceramic coating (Optimum Hyper seal on top of the nearly two-year-old Gloss-Coat) made a little photo outing necessary.

Thoughts on the DWS, and poke? I have put my 295 DWS through the ringer, and they've never once complained.

This is my second time running these tires, having put ~ 15k miles on my prior Q5. I'm a big fan. I think expectations are important - folks associating all-season with "quiet" tend to be disappointed, for example. But IMO these grip really well on dry roads, and give you all the confidence in the world in wet conditions. Match that with really impressive tread life, and a great aesthetic (I know that's corny...most folks don't care, but I want the tire to be in harmony with the look of the car), and I'm a very happy repeat customer.

From some viewing angles (i.e. parked downhill) I do get a tinge of regret in not going with 295s. Otherwise, I think the 275s look just right, filling in the wheel well from both side & front/rear axes. My ideal "look" is in conveying that the car could've come like this from the factory. I'm probably picking nits, but I think the 275s do the trick, while the 295s would've been a bit too much.

The more I drive, the more I love the handling improvement, which is really a bonus. How much of that is the 10" wheel or the 20mm extra tire...who knows? I do think the DWS is a grippier tire than the P Zeros, so maybe that factors in too. I couldn't be happier!

Pretty tires have been a must for me since I was young. Much younger than driving age. I used to select my parents tires back when I was like 10 years old. And I remember seeing say an E34 5 series on some really ugly tires, and it turning me off hugely lol. I fell in love with wheels/tires back in Kindergarten car line. Nothing has changed since 😛

And I feel the same! I've beat the snot out of mine. Some say all-season tires = No season. Nope! These UHP A/S do most everything very well!

I'm still on the fence if I want the chrome rim guards on or not though. One day I don't and one day I do. lol

i think my car needs a little more love than that. it's seriously FILTHY! i've washed it once since i moved out of SF...that was back in august. and the guy who mounted my tires left all this gunk on the rims and sidewalls.

Yep, since the CH-R Nurburgring release, the red ones have been available for purchase. I've been pushing for dark grey and black ones for years. And for them to ship with the rim guards not installed.

For real! Matt (buggravy) did his in a semi/gloss and it looked fantastic! I've contemplated it many times, but I don't keep wheels long enough the justify the hassle and expense.

Awww shucks. Since we're doing shameless plugs for me already, I'm going to have a set of matte black CH-R for sale this time next week, that will include a brand new set of the Nurburgring red caps that I never got around to installing (will come with black caps installed). If someone wanted to buy those at what will be a very reasonable price, and then buy the red guards, they'd have a pretty fly looking wheel, especially if they have red calipers. Just sayin'...

FWIW...not for lack of trying. I have an SFO access badge, but it only allows me into the data center. A good friend works for Alaska, and I of course shamelessly asked...even he's not allowed on the ramp without being joined by the proper staff in a company truck. Sigh.
