    Erased Tune?

So..long story short I bought my car under the impression that it was tuned with Stasis stage 1 way back in 2011 (by the dealer, could be important info) basically when the car was new.

I’ve noticed that it certainly doesn’t feel as fast as a stage 1 car should. I was talking to another forum member over my boost logs who suggested that over time as the car went back and forth to the dealer under previous owners, they may have reflashed the ECU with software updates etc which could potentially have erased the tune. Does anyone think this is likely or even possible? I’d like to gain some more input on this so anything helps. Thanks!

It's possible the tune was erased if there was a factory update to the ECU. Log your car to find out for sure.

Boost is unaffected by stage 1. Only way to increase boost is upgrade a pulley and get matching software to request higher boost.

Something to also keep in mind is that Stasis was a very early tune and over the years each tuner has made updates and power levels have crept up. I don't recall Stasis ever being an aggressive tune to begin with bu then add several years of refinements and I expect side to side it would not feel as fast as a car running the most recent Stage 1 file of (insert other tuner's name).

I agree with this also. iirc, wasn't stasis originally a watered down APR file?

Yes that is correct. Later it was a Revo tune but if this was 2011 then I think it was still APR then. I think you can check with Revo but you'll need to get documentation showing the Stasis tune. If it was Revo you can update to the real tune very inexpensively.

The dealer could have possibly erased it. Last time my car was at the dealer when I was with the service advisor he said there was an ECU update for my car. I told him to make sure that update was not done. So a dealership could have absolutely re-flashed the ECU for a software update if nobody was there to tell them not to.

This is not correct. The factory tune bleeds boost.

I have also heard of this. Does APR offer some sort of cheap reflash procedure?
