**SOLD** Custom Brushed trim Auto Headlight Switch

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After scouring the forums here and finding no good option for a headlight switch to match the aluminum trimmed window/mirror switches which are available for our cars, I set out to build my own. I ended up having enough usable parts for two switches, so selling the extra.

This switch uses the internals and trim ring from an OEM headlight switch, along with the center section from an aftermarket MKIV switch (which are not available in an auto version which is compatible with the B6/B7). The center section has been modified to sit flush with the trim ring, rather than 1mm recessed (as the MKIV switch itself is slightly shorter / sits slightly further inward). Because of this, the normal "push/turn" unlock mechanism does not work, but the tab can be released via access from the fuse panel.

Switch is built from new parts and is cosmetically perfect with the exception of one scuff on the trim ring which is not visible when installed (and has been touched up). The trim on the center section is aluminum (silver), not chrome like many of the cheaper/eBay switches use.

Asking for my cost in materials plus shipping, which works out to $100 shipped.

    **SOLD**

    cheers,
    Matt

I've been building these to order for a lot of fellow RS4 owners, and have a few left over currently. These are brand new OEM switches, with a custom center section, and modified for independent front fog lights (lets you run fogs with parking lights) when coded appropriately via VCDS. $125 shipped ea

Do you have any without the brushed center? That would look a bit our of place in my RS4 which only has the pedals and shift knob like that.. Thanks

the brushed center is the whole point of the switch, if you don't care for that, then just buy a new OEM switch. Many RS4 owners (like myself) have replaced the window/mirror switches with brushed trimmed ones, so the brushed headlight switch complements that perfectly and completes the look

I am still building them to order, now using brand new OEM switches. I have the -D part in stock, I'd check your existing part and if it's something else then I'd have to order it. Shoot me a PM and we can iron out the details

Know this thread is a few years old but can you still make one for a non-auto? Mine just gave out.

If you get auto, it'll work as your car has the required hardware already installed minus the switch!

Are you talking about an OEM part or this mod? I was only interested in this for the aluminum trim.
