    How bad are these seats.....really?

    Hello -

This is my first post on here so I am sorry if this has been discussed already, I tried searching but didn't see anything.

Here is the deal. I am looking at getting a used 2016-2017 TT Roadster within the next few weeks. I am wanting to stay below $40k, which is doable, but I am running into something that I didn't think about. I had set my mind on the diamond stitch pattern(S Sport Seats) seats because I liked the idea of the neck vent for those cool evenings with the top down. But while looking I found another one that was CPO with roughly the same miles and price BUT it has the standard sport seats(leather/alcantera). So now I am trying to figure out if it is worth giving up the seats that I want in order to get a CPO car.

Can anyone give me some thoughts on this? Do the sport seats suck bad enough to where I shouldn't look at CPO? I have attached a pic of the specific seats I am talking about.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this!

to me, the seats were VERY important. red diamond stitch was a must, and if it didn't have it, I didn't want it. so it depends on how important it is to YOU, not us.

these seats may be more " comfortable" as they are less sporty than the bucket seats.

but yea, seats are a deal breaker for me. take a drive in it, see how u like it, and see if visually these seats entices the deal. if not, keep searching

I love my seats and I would not compromise.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I am really looking for input concerning the actual comfort of these seats vs the S Sport seats. As in are the standard seats a little more plush and comfortable vs the S Sport Seats being more firm and supportive?

I put about 21k miles on a car per year so the CPO is a very nice feature to have. I would love to go sit in either of them but this car is so hard to find around here, as in I will have to go out of state in order to buy one. So unless my local Audi dealer happens to get a few in I might not have the chance to sit in them both.

I would go and say my seats are comfortable, but non sport seats are more comfortable. is there an audi dealer near u? iirc these seats r the same as the one in the a/s3 so maybe you can check those out. plus the s sport bucket seats are almost the same as the s4/s5 b9 so u can try those

I LOVE the looks of the diamond stitched seats but I’m 6-1 225 with an athletic build, the quilted seats were a little tight. After months of shopping, driving and sitting in the sports seats, I gave it up and concentrated on finding a pre owned car with the base seats. Not as cool but the base seats are super comfy and may even hold me in place during spirited driving better than the slick leather seats. Also know the sport seats are falling apart and after warranty is up you’ll be SOL. Also, my old Miata bros bitched constantly about sweating thru shirts on hot leather seats.

Thanks for that info. I commute about 2-2.5 hours each day and I am thinking I would prefer comfort over looks honestly. I love the idea of the neck vents but a CPO seems to be a better deal.

I find my sport seats to be extremely comfortable. Some of the best I've had. I've seen those comments in reviews too. Wait for exactly what you want or you'll regret it.

My A5 Sport seats took about 2k miles to be reasonably comfortable.
My allroad standard seats were very comfortable from the git-go.
My TTS Sport seats with diamond stitching are surprisingly very comfortable, again from the git-go. I really like the pneumatic bolsters as well.

Note that the sliding sport seat thigh supports are not a big deal to me either way at average leg length for 5' 10".

Adding air makes the seats tighter than they need to be, but ideal during spirited driving. I don’t find these seats any less confortable than other cars that I have owned.

The diamond stitch sport seats were a must have when I bought mine
