Never mind. I just contacted Audi Connect and they said that this online service is gone as well. I wonder what Mercedes Benz has to offer.

Looks like Audi Connect on-line destinations got pushed to app-only access? I don't see it at audiusa.com/myaudi now.

From the Android app: Pick the "user" icon from the lower menu bar > Pick Vehicle connection from Service section > Pick myAudi destinations from the Personalization servcies section > Pick Show myAudi destinations. Looks like new destinations can be added from the embedded map (pick the "location" icon from the lower menu bar). Search for a location, then pick the "Send to car" icon. Appears to still work OK for our '14 A4 with MMI 3G+ (for now).

The attachment wasn't approved yet, so I can't comment on it -- but I had the Google map "send to car" thing set up long ago for our Audi Connect account when the Google map setup was on the myAudi web site.

I just tried to do this from desktop Maps in a browser (using "Send to your phone" from the destination details). While Google thinks it sent the new destination successfully, I don't see it in my destination list from the app (though I don't recall if this ever happened instantaneously). So maybe this feature of desktop Maps is broken now, too, for the "new and improved" Audi Connect experience.

Guys, just to update. Both my 2103 Q7 3G+ MMI and 2012 VW Touareg RNS-850 lost its Google Earth overlay too.
Entire worldwide cars did, it seems.

So this entire SIM card slot and rSAP (Bluetooth profile thing) is almost useless. They are 3G and 2G units respectively (non upgradable). The signals were cystal clear owing to superior antennas inside the shark fin. All gone to waste now.
I've relegated it to "Handfree mode", meaning we get choppy signals inside car.

I am sure someone will hack the system to get a feed again soon, or VAG might relent and find a way into the GE overlay again.
Let's keep in touch, help each other..... I'm sure someone will come out with a solution soon......

So, according to this, my MMI should have enough memory to cache a good amount of map/satellite data. The least they could have done was allow us to keep what was in the cache. Angers me even more.

So I’ll be honest we bought three Audis in the last four years. 2016 A7, 2016 RS7 and a 2017 Q7. This really pushes me off.

I have been looking at replacing the RS7 with a Q8 but this has me seriously looking at other options.

I was thinking the same thing. I bought two Audis in 2018. I really like the feature where I can input my destinations from my hotel room on my laptop. This information went straight to my Audi located in the parking lots. Now this feature is gone. Someone said that it can be done from the app.

So an update from my end: called the dealer and asked if there’s an update available for my 2017 Q7. He said there is and it will re-enable Google Earth. Hope it actually works. Going in next Tuesday, I’ll keep you guys posted.

I just had my MMI update today (TTS 2018), the new Maxar layer took place, at first glance it looks pretty similar to Earth, what I noticed is that the google logo is still present. I will post soon a picture and the MMI sw ver.

Thanks for this news because I just called the dealer and they say the same thing to me. So I have an appointment Monday for the new update.

I told him that the A6 was not on the list, but he said that the new map will install on the 2018 A6 if I had an Audi connect subscription. So I hope my appointment Monday will not be disappointing. Can we go to any Audi Dealership to get this done? Maybe I can get it done today somewhere else.

Yup, doesn’t have to be the dealer where you purchased it, the update is essentially warranty work.

I have to admit, given that we haven't traveled out of town by car much lately, I haven't used the "Send to phone/car" feature for a saved destination in Google Maps from a browser (or needed to manage the saved list from the myAudi web site). Still, the updated app works for us, and we can get at the saved list in our MMI 3G+ system (as long as AT&T keeps their 3G data services on-line). You-all with newer MIB MMIs and 4G will be good for a longer while (as long as you keep up your paid AC subscriptions).

Yes. I went to the Audi Dealership. The 2018 Q5 will take the update, but not the 2018 A6.😞

I went for my yearly SQ5 service and MMI software update today. The Audi service informed me that the software update I received in December 2019 is the same software indicated in the recent email I received from Audi of America/Audi Connect so there is no need to update the MMI software on my SQ5. It looks like Audi has had the fix for a while but did not fully advertise until recently. My satellite map also says it is from Maxar but "Google" still shows up. The Service Manager says "Google" will disappear on January 1st but the satellite overlay will stay.

From official information all car older than 2017 cannot be updated to support the new satellite maps. Are you sure that your A3 MY 2016 can be updated and can visualize the new satellite maps?

Any idea if/when this update will be available in Europe? I have an SQ5 MY2019, checked at service and they only know that Google is not supported anymore, but are not aware about any update.

2019 cars should be support the new satellite maps bay default settings, so they should don't need any update.The update is needed for 2018 and 2017 cars of which only certain model are compatible.
