Question Rear Right Coil Spring Broke, where to find?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So the right rear coil spring broke, looks like paint chipped off, it corroded, and then broke. I was not able to find the spring locally or on eBay

Does anyone know where this part can be purchased? Does anyone have a used one after upgrading their suspension?

I use this car to drive up to the ski resort, so I cannot use aftermarket springs that lower the car.

I have some, but they are cut on top and will lower the rear to about 25.5" FTG It looked good and rode fine for many years with some APR roll control springs I had up front. I'm sure someone will have a set of used to snatch up. This is a very common problem in areas with harsh winters, etc.

You guys are the best. Now the dilemma is deciding between the two options. Does anyone have any recommendations? Basically the used part on audis4parts looks like a little beat up (how does it look to you guys?). I am leaning towards the used item, but am afraid it might fail on me reasonably soon. My issue with the new part from ECStuning is that it fits both the A4/S4 so I am assuming this will be slightly different than my other 3 OEM springs and it might throw something off, or am I way off base here and worried about nothing.

Thanks again everyone you guys are the best!

I would go by part number. If they match up then then are the same part. Perhaps the rear spring rate is the same as the a4 but front may be different because of heavier front. Not sure though.

I would go used. As long as it’s not rusted it shouldn’t crack. Plus it’ll be “worn in” and match the others. Just my 2 cents

I would just buy one from AudiS4Parts.com all of the product they have sent me over the years was in great shape. Just my opinion. Wish you the best!

Should be replaced in pairs, also rear springs tend to sag (effectivley a lower spring rate) as they get older so its a good idea to replace both with new, but at the very least replace both with another set from one car not one spring from one car and one from another.
