May also want to consider steel brake lines since youíre replacing almost everything

The 5.0 is supposed to have better bite than the akebonos which is why I was curious

I don't feel that they do. Are you a real aggressive driver?

Good to know. I like to be thorough when I take on projects like this, in order to prevent being blindsided by an issue, mid-way through. But if I can forego the kit, I'll be happy to save $175.

Not particularly aggressive but I live in a very dense city (nyc). Sometimes sudden stops are required as well as avoiding other lunatics

Then your pads will be warmed up all the time ;) You will enjoy the lack of dust with the Akeebono's too

    Bringing this topic back,

I gave a fun ride to my coworkers and had to break 3 times pretty heavily with my Akebonos. These pads really suck given it's only 46F outside.
They completely faded away after braking 3 times within 2 mins... I could smell them melting. OEM pads never faded away or melted after only 3 times of braking. And that's on stock rotors (I have ECS cross drilled and slotted rotors now)... With OEM pads I could brake 7-8 times and only then I felt like I had no brakes I'd rather have dust #endoframble
Excited to try Carbotech xp20/xp24 or Endless MX72.

I can tell you Stop Tech street pads are worthless (currently have them) and are worse than stock in terms of performance but my rotors are clean. No, I didnít know this and completely regret so Iím switching to ebc yellow cause racecar

I used to run the stoptech street pads on my old R32 and loved them. I just replaced my OE pads over the weekend because I couldnít handle the squeal every time I hit the brake pedal, even though they had tons of life left, and put on some stoptech streets. So far they have been fine, but Iím not an aggressive driver nor do I track it. Hopefully they will be ok for me.
