    Hello Gents,
Is the air suspension package worth it, how is driving dynamics vs springs, lowering, etc...
It's 4k, with th 4 wheel steering. A good set of coil would be 2k, or 3k if KW brings the DDC version, which is customizable.
I guess this is thge only "cool" option they have, until coils and springs start appearing in the aftermarket.

    Cheers,
    Bob in CA

I would say yes. 1. Is covered under warranty, 2 height adjustable, buy some end links and be able to go even lower, easy to swap out to take back to the dealer. 3. With Aftermarket coil overs, you have to deal with the dealer trying to get out of the warranty work.

    Hello Gents,
So Air it is. Test drove one today, was positively impressed. And for 4k, with the 4 wheel steerin, it's a steal!

Forgot to add. It was definitely a more plush ridethan my RX 450h Magic Lex Carpet. Yet fun enough when thrown in a corner or fast ramp. Changed height on the fly from Indvidual to Comfort.

    Hello Gents,
Air package on Prestige comes with 4 wheel steering. So i was wondering if trying to lower with end links may affect or interfere with that? Also alignment jobs are the regular ones?

    Cheers,

i have been lowered on links for about 10k miles. no issues whatsoever. I'm curious to why you dropped the air suspension from your build. with the limited aftermarket for Q7 i'm wondering how long it would take for a quality coilover to come to fruition.

    Hi there,
Decided to drop to P+, Air only on Prestige. Found a car similarly spec-ed. Also, Air in the long term, especially after warranty i was told could be costly to maintain.
Just the idea of inflating, defl ating airbags every time i wanna play, made me wary and worry about. Somebody on a dropped Air All Road mentioned "boatlike" feel after drop.

Indeed, nothing on the coil or spring market yet.
    So patiently waiting,

    Cheers,

I see, had some doubts about the longevity of the factory air but i'll worry about it when i get there. definitely no "boatlike" feel on the Q7 after lowering, if anything its tightened up the ride and is really easy to push in corners.unnamed.jpg

Thanks, they are actually Vorsteiner VFF-107's 22x10.5 et35 (20mm spacers on the front and 15mm rear) on 285/35/22. I think i might eventually swap the tires out to a 305/35/22 for more sidewall.
Links can be ordered from here http://www.airmatic-lowering-links.co.uk/ i emailed them directly and he sent me an invoice. really fast shipping i think it was less than two days from the UK.
    And some more pics:.

Really does look amazing! A few more questions if you don't mind 1) Can you link me the spacers you're using, 2) Will a 305 definitely fit? Are you worried about flats since they are not R/F? 3) How much was your install?

Used standard H&R spacers SQ5 application because they don't have the Q7 listed yet.
305's will work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alvsSytVT-c this guy is running 305's no spacers and no lowering links. 22x10.5 et25 if i remember correctly.
My OEM 21's didn't come runflat so i'm pretty much in the same situation.
Install was about an hr of labor.

Word from H&R is "We will be coming out with something for the Q&, but no ETA at this time. Minimum couple months out."

Looking in to it further to see if its a plan/scheduling thing or an issue of not having a tester vehicle. If its the latter, will see what can be done. If there is someone close to Bellingham WA and wants to volunteer their car, let me know.

Great! How about them SQ7 springs? Can they be sourced out of EU?
KW cooking something. If anybody, they'd be the first one bring something out.
ABT has 10 US "Vossen ABT Q7".

SQ7 is air so no springs available. 99.7% sure of that.
KW said they have no plans. Same with ABT.

You wonít have to wait long for H&R.

I just denied buying adaptive air suspension. The steel springs on the updated 2018 q7 is proper. I bought mine in Rocklin last week drove it for 5 hrs to Humboldt lots of hills and curves.
I traded in a massive ram mega cab diesel so Iím used to modified truck suspension feel.
I do not regret not wasting 10k + more for a suspension that felt bouncy vs solid

Same thinking, very happy with current setup, more freedom possibly down the road. But that said, not to take anything from the great Audi engineered Air/4 wheel steering package.

PS: it feels exactly like this platform should.

My cousin owns a 4L Q7 ad has air suspension. He needs it because those models are so top heavy and body roll occurs. Itís just like my 3/4 ton truck until air suspension was added.

The 4M model 2018...all I want is the rear spring drop and Bilstein dampers..this would level the ride and add 20x10 radial

    Hello Gents,
Switched to 285/40/21 Pirelli Scorpion Winter from the beautiful stock setup of 285/45/20 Verdes and I already miss the cush, plush, perfect ride! Got the looks, but trade-off seems to be a stiffer ride. Summers I was planning to stay 21", in 295/40/21, but that probably won't give me a nicer ride, so i may switch back to 20".

Btw, since that 45 gives us extra cushioning, will a something/45/21 still fit?
    Cheers,
    Bob in CA

I doubt it, and if it did, the speedo would be way off.
