The DSG is the superior transmission for sporty driving, and especially for being shifted manually, like I also do almost 100% of the time. It shifts basically instantly, up or down. A torque converter auto can upshift rather quickly, but it'll always be slower to downshift, plus it just can't blip the throttle like a DCT can, and sounds really cool. But if you modify your car and can get over its torque limit, then that's a different story. But I also bought this car in great part because it still has a DCT. They're more expensive than torque-converter autos, therefore most manufacturers using DCTs are switching to those, now that they're quicker than before. By the way, they're also heavier, and not by a little bit. Good luck.
