    Stasis Exhaust Flex Pipe Repair???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have an older Stasis exhaust for a 6MT car that came with the downpipe. The flex joint has now failed and I need to either buy another one or repair this one. I know Europa now basically has the old Stasis exhaust system. I contacted them over the holiday weekend, but understandably haven't heard back. I'm not sure if they will sell the downpipe separate or not.

Any thoughts on repairing this one? Is it a "universal" part? Can I just buy a stainless 3" flex coupling in a certain length and find someone to tig weld it into place? Any idea where I would find one of those?

    Thanks for the help.

Buy a flex which is interlock internal, have a shop weld it in. I’ve built 3 Downpipe myself. Simple job to do for a welder with a bit of skills. Stainless will be fine TIG w some 309L filler I believe should fix it all up and last for awhile longer. If you can see the inside of it snap a pic and post. I’m not sure what style flex stasis used but I have always spent a bit more and used interlock style flex for it IMO should outlast most stuff out there. Vibrant makes some nice stuff but a lot of other stainless stuff I’ve purchased on fleabay has treated me very very well.

Honestly easy fix. Just find a shop who does custom stainless exhaust and has a good rep for welding skills.

If it helps, Thermal R&D made the exhaust.

As Canadian noted, you should have no problem replacing the flex portion only. I had the same problem on my Techtonics Tuning downpipe and it was easily fixed at a local euro shop.

@leftovers Thermal R&D manufactured the exhaust so you might get lucky giving them a call... sent you a PM.
