HELP!!! P0562: System low voltage

Fault code: p0562 system low voltage
In car message: vehicle lights malfunction

Has anyone else ran into this code on our platform? If so what was the culprit? I’m guessing alternator, voltage regulator, or something along those lines... my car has no trouble starting or anything like I’m not going to get stranded anywhere but i just wanted to get to the bottom of it. I’ve turned my f80 m3 into my daily driver and have my k04 Audi in the garage so I started her up today(sitting for 2 weeks) and the voltage of the battery read 13.8 with ac/radio/headlights on and 12.3 with everything off, is it likely a low battery is my problem? Or even a faulty wire causing high resistance? My belt is fine; I panicked and bought a used alternator but the one I bought looked more used than mine lol so I don’t think it’s that unless it’s an internal problem with the brushes or something lol i don’t know... any input is greatly appreciated, happy holidays

Have you gone to a local auto parts store and electrically load tested the battery?
They will check both the battery cold-cranking amps (CCA) and the voltage output of the alternator when the engine is running.
From there, it should be easily determined what the culprit is.

Since you're on the ocean coast, do check your grounding locations to make sure they are not rusted / corroded.

Hi, I'm having the same P0562 code on my A6 Avant, but cannot get to the bottom of whats causing it. Did you have any luck?
When doing a VCDS scan the error relates to

C7 A6 2.0 TDI, so quite a different environment than a B8 A4 2.0T.
I don't see any P0562. The 17262+U140A seems to be something the 2.0 TDI throws out for something as random as Venus is not in the right part of the sky.
I'd say check all the fuses and relays in the ECM box.
You also have the odd errors with the ABS module, it seems to think it's having problems talking to something. But if that's as clear as the messages get, they are clearly useless at our leve.
You'll probably have to have a dealership or something comfortable with vehicle electronics simply work through things to figure out where something is off in your car.
The messages do not directly point to something, and I don't have wiring diagrams for a Euro C7 2.0 TDI ECM to speculate to specific points where term 30 (always on 12v) is involved.

In hindsight, that scan is an older scan and the ABS faults cleared in subsequent fault clearance.
The P0562 read out appears as the fault on cheap scanners which (if I'm correct) relates to the 17262 fault on the VCDS scan.
I recently brought the car to an independant electrical mechanic who mentioned they had checked out leads, fuses and relays but determined the car was clean from a surface inspection. They felt an experienced Audi mechanic might shed light and passed on carrying out a more in depth exploration as they might do more harm than good. Problem is here in Ireland, experienced trained independant technicians are thin on the ground and the local main dealers have a reputation of replacing every part on the way to the problem....$+$+$
I'll keep searching for the moment and failing a break-through, take out a second mortgage for the Audi dealership 🙃 Thanks again.

P0562 is system voltage low, which is quite different than open circuit (which would be system voltage none).
Where I would start if it was my car is pay for a day on Erwin and grab the PDFs relevant to my vehicle. Particularly the wiring diagrams (which should be in one big PDF). Then go to the section in the PDF regarding the 2.0 TDI CNHA engine and see how term 30 makes its way to the ECM pins. There's lot of routes to sort.

But you might still check with the dealership to see if there is any update for the ECM on your car. There was a TPI for the VW Passat 2.0 TDI about the ECM reading the voltage poorly, resulting in P0562.

That implies a scenario where the problem again is the ECM, but this time a failure due to electrical mishandling. I see several times that kind of posting on google hits.
