Official B8.5 allroad Wheel Thread! Information, Inspiration & Ideas

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know we have the B8.5 allroad Megathread (which is amazing!), but I recently ran across the Q5/SQ5 Wheel thread and thought it would be great to have a single source specifically for wheels.
I myself am on the hunt for summer wheels, which I have my eye on a few sets, but would love to see what everyone else has, along with different fitment setups (stock height, lowered, bagged, etc.).

To emulate the Q5/SQ5 Thread, if you have an aftermarket setup, post you info like below:
    - Wheel brand and model (EX: Avant Garde M590)
    - Wheel specs (EX: 21"x9" ET35)
    - Tire specs (EX: 255/40/21)
    - Spacer info if you have them (5mm spacers front and rear)
    - Ride height/suspension (EX: 1.4 inch drop/ H&R Coilovers)

And please add a photo or two, we all want to see the goodness!

    Lets start with the basics:
    Stock B8.5 allroad
    Wheel Specs: 18"x 8" ET26 (5x112)
    Tire: 245/45/r18

    Mine currently: stock plasti-dip'd

I think you meant 245/45R18 on the tire size.

Has anyone thought about putting big tires on their car, like a safari 911? For next winter I'm thinking about dropping down to 17" and running the tallest tires possible. 235/60r17 maybe.

I have been wondering the same thing, but I'm considering doing an off road type tire on 19" wheels. Curious what the biggest total diameter and width you can run at stock height with no rubbing.

    I'm contemplating more a meaty-sport / 'track-style' tire - so there's more of a sidewall 'bulge' versus a mild stretch.
My thought is some 275/35-R19 tires on 9" wide wheels; original discussion was here:

There's a tiny bit of rubbing in the rear on big dips and a touch in the front when driving hard through canyons and hit a dip mid-corner. I trimmed off one of the fender liner holders in the rear (I think Killerboots posted about doing it to his in his build thread) this weekend and also slightly rolled the front fender. Haven't had the chance to test it to see if those have eliminated it completely.

Finally got to put my new tires (last March) thru their first snow test. I have a 2013 allroad.

Tires are Yokohama YK740 Touring A/S. Reviews had them rated pretty good in snow. I can confirm.... they’re really, really good. Not dedicated snows good, but they really hold the road.

We FINALLY got some decent snow here in Colorado, so had to go and play. We have about 7-inches of snow in the ground, but the freezing rain before the snow really turned up the slick factor. .

If you’re looking for a solid set of all-seasons that keep the fun factor.... these are a winner.

Thanks all! This is exactly the resource I have been looking for for my new (to me) allroad. Trying to decide which direction to go with a second wheel/tire setup after my stock 18's and very mediocre tires that the dealer put on.

I’m looking to pick up a B8.5 Allroad and thinking about several wheel combination possibilities. I have a set of Rays Volk G25 20”x10 et 25, BBS CX-R 20”x10 et 25 and OEM RS5 rotors 20”x9 et26. What’s the best tire wheel combo for mix of comfort and sport? I like the 35 sidewall I’m currently running on my S7 but not sure it will work well on an Allroad?

I think the x10 with the et25 is gonna be very flush with the flares. the picture above your post is the RS5 Rotors you're asking about.

I would be happy to take the RS5's off your hands since you already have 2 other nice sets!!

On another question, does anyone know of an aggressive "off-road" looking all season tire? I have been searching with no luck for a new set of wheels I picked up, tire size will likely be 255/40r19.

I’m close to pulling the trigger on an allroad. I’m wondering if I can repurpose my S7 setup on the allroad? I’m running 275/35/20 on a set of 20”x10” et25. Alternatively I have a set of RS5 rotors which are 20”x9” et26. I’m guessing I should switch to 265/35/20?

Both setups will work depending on how low you go and what camber settings you use.

Does anyone know when Audi started using this style wheel...
    IMG_2815.JPG
I just saw it on a 2018 S7 brand new from the factory on a dealership floor...
    Seems like a long time...

The 5-arm "rotor" (there are different OEM variants of diameters sizes, widths and offsets) have been around since 2010 (someone will verify).

I think this is correct, first appearing (in the US) on black optic S4’s & S5’s.

I almost think it beats out the peeler for most used across Audi model lines-
I just picked up a set myself. By far my favorite OE wheel Audi has out at the moment (close second the A7/S7 black optics wheels)

What’s your ride height? About to pull the trigger on the same wheels. I have S4 Peelers with 255/35/19 tires and am considering 255/50/19 tires (your setup) for the rotors. I’m on audi sport suspension so I’d guess I’m a little higher than your ride height, but want to get a feel for that tire size.

I ride around 26.5 on all fours. I’m on air suspension.

I’m a little higher than that so the 40 sized tire (typo in my original post) should work quite nicely. I assume it will also smooth the ride out slightly over the 35s I’m on now?
