That's what I originally had, but I switched to the Precision 44mm to accomodate the JDL Manifold.

Picking it up tonight. UM is going to run a base map for 15 psi (wastegate pressure) until he figures out how to utolize the 5th injector as port injection to supplement the DI injectors. This is basically what the MK6 guys did when they plumbed an addituonal 5th injector in the throttle body. It seems like the Autotech HPFP only increases the rail pressure by about 5%, which should push the pressure from 195 Bar to about 205 Bar and thats the maximimum pressure for the DI injectors anyway. We'll see what happens?? If anything, swapping an Allroad Intake manifold onto a big turbo setup could be a viable option to overcome fueling obstacles that have been the achilles heel of this platform.

I'll get my cutout wired in this weekend and make a sound clip. I just have to figure out how to make this OEM switch work to operate the cutout

Ughhh..one last thing. Four Seasons has had issues with both the ATP and CTS DV machined relocation housings not being deep enough to allow the REV "D" DV's to fully seat and/or fully open. They are ditching the OEM Electronic DV for the 710 mechanical DV from the 1.8, 2.2, 2.7T motors

I'm not opposed to that, I was told to keep the boost control system as close to stock as possible.

The stock MAP sensor only reads up to 21.5psi though. Did you get a 2 BAR MAP sensor then?

Just got the car back!!! Finally. Now its just waiting on UM for the base tune and its the home stretch. It spools really quick and you have to be careful. It already hits like 15psi at part throttle around 3k so I'm hoping full spool should be around 3500-3700rpm. Its actually quieter than before and seems to have a flatter sounding exhaust note. Maybe the equal length manifold contributes to that. I'll make a sound clip tomorrow.

Very confused what tune is on there? I think with a max power tune, you'll get a lot more growl from the exhaust.

Good thing you got that cutout installed

Its still on the GIAC tune, I talked with them on the phone about this and they said its fine to drive if I take it easy.

Yes, probably just tune for E50 or less. Definitely not going to run a "send it" map or anything on stock internals but definitely going to try and make as much safe power as it can handle.

Honestly you’ll be fine I drove mine on a stock tune for a bit before Mirza put his base map on and I had no problems. My AFR’s never went passed 14.9 @ idle and became rich under boost. Bore scoped cylinders and they still look okay.

I was logging the general health of this big turbo setup running the stock turbo GIAC stage 1 E85 race map. I noticed that no timing was being pulled anywhere and that the Lambda values were spot on so I proceeded to log a few pulls to draw some comparisons. I know that the stock turbo tune is clearly not optimized for this big turbo setup but its interesting to see data. Consequently, I could run this tune long term because its safe, so that is comforting to know if you find yourself in a similar situation.

You can see the dramatic difference in fuel pressure with the Autotech HPFP upgrade.

Also, despite the poor wastegate duty cylce for this turbo it still spools quick for a turbo of its size. I imagine that it will reach full spool around 3500rpm when tuned correctly since it spools at 3800rpm now.

The second graph is: legend is on graph but.....

Orange: charge pressure specified - peak of 22.5psi tapering to 15psi

Grey: stock turbo charge pressure actual
My stock turbo was always underboosting by 2-3 psi

Blue: Precision 5558 hits 18psi and just holds it right now

look like the Autotech HPFP Upgrade give you a lot more fuel pressure above 5000 rpm?
thought i was supposed to give you much more at lower RPM. At max torque RPM.

Autotech states it increases rail pressure by 10 Bar or around 5%. The HPFP is run off the cam so as RPM's increase so does the pressure created.

My tune currently requests 17.09 MPa across the board which is 170 Bar. I'm not sure why the actual pressure varies like it does. Audi uses a sophisticated load based system to determine fueling.

I think you will be good to go with Eurodyne, I would use it if they had my ECU box code available. If you can tune your stock setup, you can tune a K04 or big turbi no problem. :)

Hopefully soon, Jeff @UM is a one man band. I was told I am 1 of 5 tunes he's working on at the moment. Four Season tuning sent him a flex fuel intake manifold to play with but He also has a 2014 Flex fuel A4 with a K04 in his shop at his disposal.
I was really excited to work with Eurodynamic because they can tune the ZF8, I'm not sure if UM has anything for it. I really want to bump up the rev limit to 7000 now that this setup breathes so well.

Update!!! There is no update. United Motorsports evidentially dropped the ball on my tune and is unresponsive. Eurodynamic said they will tune it... again. So they offer a handheld, tune at home solution now for $300 + tune. Basically what a custom tune runs from anywhere else.

I'm really disappointed in many of these car companies, there is very little communication and most of them, while good at what they do, do not know how to run a business properly. Hence the struggle.

I finally got around to getting a good external mic setup for the gopro so I'll try and make a sound clip with the cutout open and for the mechanical DV which has a unique sound.

    Great work so far!

I think the problem with UM is the location. Unlike the south or west, the north east and midwest only have shows in the summer and a lot of tuners/shops etc will be jam packed with customers who bring their car out of hibernation or put their summer tires back on. On most summer weekends they have to close shop to attend shows for promotion, see what's out there, etc. Following the summer, Fall is boost season and a lot of tuners will be tweaking their tunes to get the max potential out of it. The winter is when many of them have more time to work on cars and tunes. I wouldn't give up hope on UM completely.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I put in my tune request on April 20th though, was supposed to have a base tune within two weeks. :(

Yes and no. UM is out, Jeff is no longer interested as he thinks the fueling is inadequate despite my setup having more rail pressure and injector flow than the MK6 platform that was easily making 400whp???? It sounds like he has other interests to pursue as he's blown off a few other people with BT setups lately. Eurodynamic said they would do it but are swamped until September. I contacted GIAC and they are now interested as they want to develop their bluetooth-flash at home dongle for the B8/B8.5. They are in the process of moving locations and said they would be ready at the end of August. I'm just patiently waiting at this point. The car drives good and I'm hitting 267 g/sec on the MAF up from 220 g/sec on the stock setup that made 290who/335wtq so that roughly equates to around 350whp on 18psi.

For sure! I've been busy the last few OC meets but I'll try to make the next one.
