    I am now doubting whether it is a 2G High as it has the CD changer and not the SD cards. I will ask him to send me a photo of the software version to be sure.

    --Update--

    It is a 2G High, so no compatibility with rsnav yet.

    See firmware.

    @boere and @andRap and @Gunnark1000 ,thanks for the answers anyway.

    Hi Daniel

    Just received it...

    Any advice on what to connect the box's video output to on the RSNav unit? The Rear cam input?

    Which cable can I tap on the harness to get the canbus signal sent over to their "Rear trigger (blue)" cable?

    Thanks!

    For those who want a "home-button":
    I do not need the nav shortcut often. I installed a app (black screen app) as dummy and used it as nav app (assign over original launcher). After this i build a tasker routine that everytime this app opens it goes back to homescreen. So: nav button works as home button.

    By the way:
    Media Button= selected media app
    Radio = selected radio app
    Tel= bt tel option
    Settings = settings
    Name = home
    Scroll = media next/prev
    And so on... this would great. But we only have a nav button🤯.
    @ Daniel: Is this important improvement on your list in china?

    Isn't that rear trigger merely from a reverse light for example, it's unlikely to be canbus with only one wire.

    no way cause the box is to be located say behind the glovebox... the blue 'trigger' cable is there to read the canbus signal and switch the reverse cam on same way the RSNav does but then also switches to front for 15secs...

    Question is which cable on the canbus harness is the right one...

    Strange, because the canbus is two wires, you always get a high and a low, it's the very reason the whole canbus network is so robust.

    I'm not an electrical engineer but I'm pretty sure you can't read the data bus with one signal wire. I've done plenty of canbus hacking on the Jeep platform but I could be wrong. Also, the hardware required to read a reverse signal of the canbus probably costs more then the £20 you paid for it.

    Have you tried grounding the blue wire to see if it a signal, I'd say put 12v down it but as a canbus network is only 2.5v that could be bad!

    Fur the price you paid I'd wager you the entire amount it is a 12v switched feed that you somehow need to tap into a reverse line.

    Yup, I'm right, I did some digging around AliExpress and identical looking units have comments from purchasers. One of those comments had an answer from the seller who answered that the blue goes to a 12v reversing signal. Which makes sense as that's pretty common colour for a switched live.

    So, you'll need to track down a wire that goes live when in reverse maybe near the gear lever?

    You can take the cable from the set of relays under the steering wheel.

    Other thoughts:

    1- if the rearview camera only works when in reverse, should'nt it be already a trigger by itself ?
    2- I do not know how RSNAV works but I assume that it detects when the car is in rear and opens the video-in port while in rear. How will RSNAV know that it has to keep video in for the extra 15s (showing the front camera video coming from the box) as the car will no longer be in rear gear?

    Bonus:

    you can find here a similar system built with 2 relays. But it is for the original MMI (in italian)

    Think we can forget about MMI (2G) Basic. Waiting for over a year now. Bought a converter from Russia for 200 euro's for nothing.
    This converter allows red mono screen to connect to a color screen and some other stuff.
    Waste of money.

    I have airbag light on, parking sensor radar stop working, dynamic lines of rear parking camera stop working. Anyone have these issues?

    Did you try to delete the Airbag issue?

    When it comes again, i think you have to Cut the White Line of the Hazard flasher button. And then delete again.

    Contact me if it's going to be white or brown. There are two types of hazard flasher boards.

    i may have missed it in the thread, but is the TPMS issue caused by this unit as well? i am getting the TPMS light. my previous wheel set didnt have sensors so i had the dash light anyway, wasnt sure if this still causes it because recently swapped all my TPMS sensors (i have a 2009 with actual sensors in the wheels), it went away for like a minute when i started driving and it came right back. already tried clearing and it comes back. and it's not a bad sensor it seem as it says TPMS system malfunction, rather than usually when it just says air pressure low. im also getting the parking brake and airbag issue so i know about those, but wondering what to do about the tpms.

    Silly question but did you try clearing the errors in VCDS (or Carista) and did you reset the TPMS values in the MMI?

    Update, It's comming.
    Will solve some of bothering bugs such as echos and right side speaker stuff in Bt call or in nav guidance.
    Fahrenheit issue has something to to with CANBUS so waiting for code updates from our supplier.
    For Concert BT, annoyingly large volume on BT handsfree was fixed and introducing slight improvement on BT app.

    Looks cool.

    I have connected center dash speaker (my car originally does not have it). Even though media is on aux, Navi instructions are always routed only through Center Speaker. Is it the expected behavior.?

    When music and navi both are from RSNAV, its quite annoying that music from all speakers stops, navi instruction (in background music) comes from center speakers alone.

    Also in my volume adjust app, all the volumes are less than 50%. But still ater a restart some times volume from central speaker is terribly high.

    Is there something fixed on these points.?

    Thanks.

    We are working our ass off hard.

    Thinking about changing left wheel rollers for track control as well.

    Next update will improve quite a lot even though it's not Android 7.0 yet.

    Has anyone tried connecting the unit to the car via Bluetooth? I don't use the Bluetooth phone function on the RSNav, and I thought that if I could stream from Android to the MMI I could get song change controls and song info in the speedo screen.

    Also, if you've been successful in rooting, can you let me know how you got ADB and Fastboot to see the unit from your computer? I have tried a USB A-A cable and I think android usb host is preventing my laptop from seeing the unit.

    Our unit is limited to a2dp stream receiver and transmitting is not allowed. Making a unit a2dp transceiver is nearly kernel compiling issue.

    It may be easier to crack Magnetti Marelli speedo display if we know how to access to it. But I have no idea how to begin for that.

    Okay, I need help.
    This is one of my EU customer having an unidentified noise issue.
    I've sold over 700+ and as far as I know, I never heard this type of noise.
    The car is 2012 A4 Avant TDI BNAV in Switzerland.
    The client hired a professional installer and is not capable of dismantling by himself.

    First of all, the origin of noise is not RSNAV's audio output port.
    This is not one device doing this but any device installed to his car does this.
    It's not the noise isolator malfunction and noise isolator is completely ineffective for that noise.
    This only happens when the diesel motor is on and running.
    My hypothesis is this may be ground loop or electric short.
    Oddly, when MMI aux port with other mobile devices it doesn't make any noise.
    This happens only with RSNAV 3G MMI BNAV model, but it's his second device
    and the one I handpicked in China after testing in a 3G MMI car confirming no issue at all.
    Another reason I think this is ground interference is that RSNAV takes power from 3G MMI device so there goes inevitable ground loop created.
    Usually, the noise isolator suppresses any loop noise well, But that's apparently out of scale.
    Again, it only happens when the diesel motor is running.

    Any idea? I am thinking to buy an air ticket to Switzerland ...

    Awesome. Can't wait for the update. Still receiving error box that it's running into a problem and repeating after pressing ok. As of right now my product is not even functional. It just keeps popping up the same screen and I cannot even get to the Android home screen. Pretty annoying. I am not sure how I can even hard reset now because I can't even access settings.

    Did you update google apps in play store? It will bugs you forever until you update them.

    Yea, after was told to do a factory reset before updating, I made sure to update all apps. It worked very well for about 2 weeks and now it's having the same issue. At this point I cannot even access the Google Store to update any apps. The screen is popping up with a message and I press ok and the same cycle over and over.

    Yes, I turned on all permissions for Google apps as well as the ones I frequently use which isn't that much.
