I have also noticed some connectivity issues with bluetooth to new devices occurring as well. Do you have any insight on the bluetooth issue?

UPDATE: I tried to clear the cache through settings but looks like it doesn't have any effect. I'm not sure if the button is even registering the clear cache action. It still shows the same amount of data used in cache.
Figured I would add I am experiencing this google play store error too... which started only recently. Clearing cache/data/changing permissions/etc do not fix the problem. No other issues with the unit however, my BT is working fine.

In an unrelated question, has anyone managed to change the start up animation? I hate it and would prefer a static screen the entire time like the one that occurs after the animation completes.

After clearing all and set all permissions make a reboot.

I disabled the audi video and only have the warning as boot logo. I used build.prop for this.

In the above diagram from RANav installation manual,

    1. I see two connections to the Fuse Box. I didn't find any further details. Can some one help me what exactly should be done here ? Is this connections needed ?

    2. Also For MMI only, to conenct 2 wire together. I am installing in MMI 3G Basic. Is this needed ? my understanding is not needed.

Disabling the video doesn't affect the boot time. And as for rooting I used kingoroot that was discussed earlier in the thread.

    RSNAV Android System Software Updates

PLEASE IDENTIFY YOUR SERIAL NUMBER FIRST, IF YOUR SERIAL NO. CONTAINS NUMERICS 1806(means manufactured IN JUNE, 2018) OR UP IN THE SERIAL NUMBER YOU HAVE VERSION 2.0 OF THE MAIN BOARD. e.g. if your serial no. has 1710 in the digits like below picture, then your unit was made October 2017 and you have 'VERSION 1.0' of the mainboard.

DO NOT UPDATE WITH WRONG VERSION, RESOLUTION, WRONG REGION, WRONG LTE BAND FIRMWARE. IT WILL BREAK YOUR SYSTEM. CONTACT US IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT
VERSION AND RESOLUTION YOU HAVE OR WHAT REGION YOU ARE IN. THIS IS THE FIRST SOFTWARE TO UPDATE BEFORE ANY OTHER UPDATE. DO NOT PUT
UPDATE.ZIP, MCU_UPDATE, CAN_UPDATE FILES IN ONE SD CARD. DELETE ANY PREVIOUS FILE THAT YOU ARE DONE BEFORE YOU BEGIN ANY
    NEW PROCEDURE.
    Instruction

    1. Download firmware file from the link (do not unzip or rename the file).
    2. Copy update.zip to the root of TF(MicroSD) card.
    3. Insert TF(MicroSD) card to the slot of the device
    4. If MX Player launches, exit the program, push out the TF(MicroSD) card and insert it again.
    5. When Software update message is prompted, enter '888666' for the password.
    6. Do not interrupt until the device restarts automatically. Maintain electricity power by running your motor idle.
Do not operate the device or the vehicle. After a successful update, the device will boot up normally.
It may reboot 3 or 4 times while updating and it's normal. It may take up to 30 mins to update.

If SDcard is hard to reach
First, Put the update.zip file to the USB stick's root.
Second, Ignore the password window, then copy update.zip to the SD card using a file manager app.
Third, take out and plug in the USB again, then it will show the password window again, input the password 888666
Finally, take out the USB stick when the system reboots.

Click here to visit the software update page

    Update Log

2018.09.28: Added more OBD device support(all classic Bluetooth OBD II devices except BLE devices), improved sound quality(Frequency response range widen) + support volume control on steering wheel in Android, Carinfo app support switching between RHD and LHD mode, improved stability with CarPlay/Android Auto Dongle, Minor bug fixes and patches. Activated 'Hearing Navigation guide voices, Ruixun_BT sounds while in AM/FM Radio and Sat Radio' - For this, if you have 3G MMI supporting models and you must connect centre dash speaker bypass lines to centre dash speaker if you skipped the procedure at your installation.

    Hi Daniel

What's the bottom line on this?
My external antenna is SMA while the RSA's connector is now fakra so right now I have no antenna connected and barely any GPS signal...
I already have a fakra extension so that would an easy fix if I could just connect the RSA to the car's original antenna...

When you are Not Sure than Install the rsnav near the Center speaker. It is the best place

I own a 7" and in recents updates I used to get this screen. No possible steps to progress from there in my experience. After several attempts the screen was not showing and the update finally applied.

Sorry for deviating from the current topic of update.
I have just installed 8.8 inch unit on my Audi A4 B8.5. I am quite impressed with the unit. However I have few concerns, I want to check if you guys have any solution

    1. iNav button can only be mapped to default iGoMaps or GoogleMaps. Is it possible to map to any other installed maps (like here, Sygic )?

    2. I want to make calls always via the Bluetooth connected phone (connected to RSNAV). Bluetooth phone app came with the device looks horrible, highly impossible to look through 100's of contacts and initiate a call. Also for incoming calls, it does not show up the contact name, just shows the number, its just horrible. Unfortunately I am not happy with the quality of OEM Blutooth calling, again searching through the contacts is horrible while driving. I thought RSNAV would fix my problem, but it remains the same. How are you guys dealing with calling ?

    3. I always prefer to make calls via Google Assistant. Hitting the "speak" button, looks like it starts Google Voice Search and not the Google Assistant ? Is this also the case with you ? Is it possible to launch Google Assistant ?

    4. Also for "speak" button shot press is OEM voice commands and long press is Google Voice Search, is it possible to invert the behavior ? short press --> Google Voice Search/Assistant ?

    5. USB port from RSNAV, does not fast charge the phone. Looks around internet, I found options to use a external powered USB Hub. Does such USB Hub work with RSNAV? Have any one tried ? any suggestions here ?

I know problem 2 and 3 are not relavant when using Android Auto. But I am looking for a generic solution that I can use when not using AA. I preference to use offline maps like Sygic. So AA is not a option always.

    Thank you.

    andRap,

I don't have the answer for all your questions, but you can change the iNav button to default to Sygic or any Navigation App you desire. Under the RSNav Interface, long press the NAV button and then scroll down and select the respective app (i.e. Sygic) and you will be golden. Just that easy. Hope you get all other questions answered.

I think I found the solution for the autobrightness display!

This device measures light intensity every 0.25s. The data can be passed through usb to android.

Then there's just need of an app that uses this data to set the brightness.

    Make a tasker routine:

    If
    app sygic starts
    Then
    Close sygic
    Open XY

Everytime you push the button, the screen will flicker short but it will open XY then.

Good idea. I will try this.
But I am curious to know if this is problem only on my device or in general only those 2 apps supported for iNav button .?
