If you google "RSNAV" it will take you where you need to go.

The previous thread was deleted because Daniel himself was talking about pricing and ordering on his website.

Talking about something you purchased is allowed if you are not affiliated with the company. Look at all the threads that talk about items someone purchased on eBay or other sites that are not vendors like fogs, mirrors, grills etc.

Daniel - what are the chances of Android 7.0 on these? or is that just not necessary or not feasible for the next few years or something? i'm guessing no need for 7.0 and 6.0 can do everything still? i'm just wondering like 1-2 years down the line if 6.0 will still be good or become outdated, any chance for 7.0 or future OS version upgrades or anything like this?

    For Android 7.0 upgrade -
We asked our partner to upgrade it, but I am not sure if these incapable assh*les can do it on time. MT8783V CPU that we are using can run the Android 7.1 64bit.
All the generic models with Android 7.1.2 in the market are kind of fake. it's 32bit Android 7.1.2 loosely based on Android 5.1.
Android 6.0 isn't bad for now. Since 5.1, Android got a lot of changes internally, but as far as I know, Android 6.0 is as fine as Android 7.0 on the internals.
As far as I know, Android 7.0 has certain requirements like supporting VULCAN API something like that, but MT8783V is missing something, so it cannot get 'official upgrade'.
However, I see our Taiwanese friend MediaTek has sorted it out to bypass such. The only problem is our partner who fabricates the core board would do it on time.
These assh*les are causing every misery. We might go to another partner in far future...

In conclusion, 7.1 seems possible and let's pray together for it. But 6.0 would be as fine as 7.1 for its lifetime.

I hope mediatek has gotten better in years. From my days of android development mediatek has a terrible reputation for bad soc's and terrible gps chips and even worse with android development access. The never even came close to Qualcomm soc's

However this was some years ago so hopefully they have gotten better

Yea they are the best at producing really cheap high and mid grade chips but the quality is so so. Good for mass production products though using their soc's

10.25” Android head unit / display (RSNAV)

Tonight I decided to try installing DashCMD and get it connected. Works like a charm. I’m using the Kiwi 3 OBDII adapter. Connected very quickly and remained connected just fine. Didn’t even need to discover or connect the adapter first.

Carrying on with the car theme tonight I decided to give my Ross-Tech HEX-NET adapter a try. Downloaded and installed their VCDS-MOBILE application. Installed and connected perfectly well. This adapter I did need to connect using the Realsun WiFi interface first. I can’t remember my password so I only got to load up the login screen. Not sure this will end up working as I think it also needs to connect to the internet. (Which means also using my iPhone as a personal hotspot) so this might not end up working without a 3G card installed in the unit, since the VCDS-Mobile uses WiFi to connect to the HEX-NET adapter.

Have nothing but great things to say about this unit.

    REALLY loving it.

The real problem is major SOC makers want huge quantity to place an order. Rockchip and MTK accept small orders. But Rockchip's performance is mediocre ... even though they are quick to support software updates. MTK is like what you said. The terrible part is software tweaks. The mean of the communication with MTK is 'money'.

looks like a great product so far but i have a few questions.
How is the sound quality as far and clarity and equalizing of music?
Is there any humming or buzzing?
If so is the any as volume increases?
How loud can you turn up the volume?
How will this work with playing music from an iPhone over Bluetooth and wired?

How is apple carplay initiated? Does the USB cable from you phone plug in directly to the display?

So the USB extension/adapter on their site connects to the screen and your phone connects to that adapter?

Sound quality is better than the factory unit. (I have the B&O upgrade) I am planning on using the RSNAV unit as the basis for an audiophile quality installation.

I've found using the PowerAmp application directly within the Android head unit works very well. The application allows for playback of all sorts of file formats and bit rates, including flac.
I've got the Apple Car Play adapter as well, and have been playing music through ACP, and through bluetooth streaming. I think the cleanest sound is from the Android head unit using the PowerAmp application. The PowerAmp application has a built in 7 or 10 band EQ ... can't remember ... but I don't plan to use it. I will be installing Kicker IQ amps eventually and will be controlling all EQ/DSP/Crossover functions within the amps.

Volume can be cranked up pretty good. Sounds better than the factory head unit, even though the sound is still coming through the factory B&O amp/speakers for now.

Once your iPhone is paired with the Android unit, you simply play the music on your iPhone, it streams through the head unit. Wired is the same. Apple Car Play, launch the interface, plug the phone into the lightning port and then use ACP to play music, ask Siri stuff, whatever.

this is really awesome but id rather this be with a slightly smaller screen and keep the airbag light and make the hazard light more accessible so it looks like a factory setup. NJ and surrounding states will flag us for no passenger airbag light, and it should be throwing a code for that light being out on the SRS module if im not mistaken.

We have 7", 10.1" already available. Could offer 8.8 inch in future.
Also, for passenger airbag light, we are making new buttons to support for that. Yes, it is throwing a code so that's why we are rushing to make new button for some states.

nope, keeps the oem/factory look. which looks pretty good for those that want it, but i need a nice big display and if im installing this i might as well go all out, i went for the 10.25, waiting for delivery anytime soon now i guess.

not sure if you had already but check out the website - rsnav [com], you'll see each different size/model and some pics and other details.

Yes, the units from RSNAV work perfectly well. All factory displays are still available through the new display unit. Also the instrument gauge cluster is unchanged. Mentioning power steering I'm guessing you are referring to the "DIS"?

You do get the Audi interface and still have access to all the MMI functions/options by just touching the icon on the screen and navigate through the legacy menu using the MMI control panel... You then touch the screen again to go back to android...
