There is 'dumpping shipping' available providing 'fake' tracking code and taking over a month to deliver, but we don't want to do that for this expensive piece.

I want people to think about economics here. Who would deliver a large boxed good from china to america or europe if he or she is paid less than $80 for the journey? Most of our boxes are heavier and larger than a macbook box. If we sell like 100 units per month, we could do free shipping or $19.99 express shipping, but we are not that good. I know people are accustomed to those 'cheap' shipping fees, but the smaller quantity, the more expensive transit cost.

In reality, Most of chinese generic GPS's wholesale price is ranged from 200~300USD. Most of them marketed between 300~500 USD by sellers. So, the less expensive shipping or free shipping from Aliexpress or some other chinese sites are really 'overpriced shipping fee' included.

Our competitor's 10.25" unit with Android 4.4's wholesale price is USD 350, and the marketed price is ranging from 460 to 650 USD. Sure, I'd do free shipping if I can get the margin of 200~300USD per unit. Our unit is expensive, because we use 64bit octacore(A53), whereas others are using PX3(Arm A9) 32bit quadcore cpu. Those PX3 32bit with Android 7.1.2 isn't really running Android Nougat 64bit, but running water downed version of Android 5.1 32bit with Android Nougat skin. Px3(Arm A9) is now dumping on the part market in china. We are using native 64bit octacore cpu and running Android M in 64 bit. The performance isn't comparable.(Also the cost too!)
Personally I'd rather pay $80 to get it delivered in 3/4 days to my door than wondering during 3 weeks where my unit is (i.e. somewhere when Shenzhen and Madrid)... I still remember what happened when I bought my Chinese unit for $400 plus $50 costs, waited ages relying on some very approx tracking, had to return it cos it had died (another $60), wait for the seller to decide if he'd be 'willing' to replace it then wait ages again for the new one with again some very approx tracking info... All in all about $520 for a genuine PoS that I will never install (again)...
