Anthony - thanks for all your hard work on this product! Great to see a fellow Korean succeeding :)

I have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered:
    1. I have a 2012 Audi A4 - No Nav but B&O: Is the current model the one that will work for me?
    2. How does volume work? Do our native controls either on the console or steering wheel work? If not, what is the process to update when available?
    3. I am using a product called XCarlink that I used to connect my rear-view camera. Will this feed in to your system as well if it is already working on my display? I think it should, or should I reconnect the camera directly to a port on the unit
    4. Do you have a SIM card to recommend for use in the US? I would like to have it access Spotify on it’s own network if possible. I have an iPhone but not happy with the limitations of CarPlay (ie cannot use Waze, google maps, etc) In this case could I still use Bluetooth to automatically answer and make telephone calls?
    5. Great work beta user on DashCommand and VAG-COM! Looks like it opens up tons of possibilities!
    6. Is there any advantage in purchasing the 7” over this unit (ie have the bugs been fixed on that unit?)

    Thank you!

8.8 is open too. But it will only fit the original LCD frame like this for B8 sedan/avant etc.
    Q5 is all year.

I guess Anthony you are referring is me.
    1. Yes, go for concert/symphony model
    2. Both. on radio knob it's the amp that increase the volume, and steering button is active for both Android volume and system volume.
    3. You need to remove xcarlink and connect camera directly to our unit.
    4. AT&T would have the best connection with the unit and then Verizon = T-mobile, and not working on Sprint
    5. I think that's Tim(OP)'s efforts.
    6. 7" had rapid screen flickering issue that is sensitive to temperature, but we found a fix. So all 7" will receive this fix sooner or later.

Just placed my order for the 8.8 mmi unit. I had been deliberating over which model to get since I wanted as close to stock look, but the ergonomics of the 10.25 so this seems to split the difference.

Hopefully now that there's a 3g mmi option Daniel does well on sales today

Is there an image of the 8.8" for the A4 B8 yet? Just curious how it will look and how much of the trim will be replaced. Also, does the 8.8" work with A5 trim at all? Thanks!

This was uploaded in another thread. If you Google image search this you can find a few more but they're about the same quality of photo.

So for Andriod Auto/CarPlay to work with the new 10.25" unit this needs to be purchased also? If so, can I add it to my order?

For the relay, the easiest way is to pick up a ground and add a 12v source with a 5A fuse from the trunk fuse block.

When using a typical automotive relay......

    (30) is your new 12v source from the fuse block
    (85) is your ground which you can pick up off one of the grounding lugs in the trunk
    (86) is your switched 12v source. This is the wire you're gonna tap from your reverse lights. I don't remember the colour but you can test it out with a multimeter at the connector.
    (87) is the wire going to the camera

More pics of the 8.8" in this eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-A4-A5-...-/202106888791

Do NOT buy the eBay one as it's an inferior product using older version of Android. Pics for reference only.

This isn't our stuff but our stuff looks the same. But this one is running on android 4.4. 5.1 is fake.

Yes, people do not buy the one from eBay. It's an inferior product. Older version of Android and lower specs all around.

I posted just for reference for people to see how it will fit in the dash.

Oh well, I need to write up 10.25" instruction again.. but I was too busy. Try to write in next few days. But it's nearly the same as Q5.
Just using pryer tool take out the LCD frame, and there is total 10 screws for the glove compartment.

    Daniel,

Wait, what?? When did these units lose the ability to connect with android auto? There was a video in the previous post that got deleted showing it working fine....

So I have to add this adapter before I can use Android auto or apple car play? If so, that really sucks.

Well, it will still connect to android auto if you purchase 'head unit reloaded emulator' from playstore, but since it wasn't so stable, i went for the dongle.

At least, android auto will work with that 10$ app, but don't blame me if it's unstable.

Daniel - it was not clear that we needed the dongle from the website. I have already placed my order - is there anyway I can add this to my order to avoid further shipping costs? Or is this dongle available elsewhere for purchase in the states?

Still on road trip, made over 2000km in two days.
Crashed today. Don't know if I have to take a day off or what.

BTW, mmi button and steering support...
Now I see a reason to bring that shitty UI again.

it should be pretty simple if you have the vagcom cable. the instructions are included with it as well, you just go into one of the modules and change a value and you get the aux option enabled.

It takes less than a minute with the vag-com cable. Super simple, just follow the instructions. I have concert and non-mmi (no green menu etc) ... this was actually the first coding change I did after getting my vag-com cable and it is super easy. Just follow the directions. :) Oh, and this only needs to be done if you have the AMI and don't already have AUX listed in your available media types.

I ran into problems in my b8.5 install. When the hazard light is plugged into the plastic 10.25" mount, the plastic mount doesn't fit flush to the dash. It's too far away for me to connect the plastic mount to the metal mount with the small screws that are included. If I unplug the hazard light it fits well enough, but that isn't really an option, is it? I've attached some pictures to show what I mean. Am I doing something wrong? There is nothing about this part of the install covered in the instructions.
