    2. If I set concert as default in the settings, would the music from concert radio start playing when I start ignition like it does now, or does it have to wait for rsnav to boot up fully?
    3. If I set the concert to be default, does it show the stock picture right away, or is the switching done by an app only, so it has to boot up fully before you can switch between concert display and rsnav display?
    4. I saw somewhere in the thread that you don't need a coin battery mod for the clock since april 2nd. Since my unit was shipped on april 10th, does that mean it has a coin battery inside or some other way of keeping the clock from resetting?
    5. If the wheel buttons are disabled in rsnav settings, do the buttons work on the concert before rsnav boots up fully, or only after it's booted?
I will answer this sometime tomorrow. Now 2:40 AM. Doctor says my blood pressure is too high so i need to take care. Lol.

Great news, would it be possible to test it out for some users that don't use the phone bluetooth (like myself) in the future?

    Audi A4B8 MMI3G+ version 8.8" display

    Hello Daniel
I received the items during last week but since I was out I just opened the package today (Audi A4B8 MMI3G+ version 8.8" display).
From a first impression is seems that you sent me a version of the plastic with an embedded flasher button… I need (as I specified in the order) to use my original flasher button since it have the original OEM light….
Please advise me how I can solve this first issue because I would like to mount the items asap
    Thanks!

Daniel, is there an app that goes along with the dash cam? Also, I had a hard time getting my humidity sensor in, are there different models for those with this sensor?

    Final cam is the app.
Also for the rain sensor, unless you told us wrong year, we've sent you right one. Prefacelift is different from facelift for the dash can.

It fits the rain sensor, it's just the humidity sensor that doesn't have an actual spot in the camera. Also, I pm'd you a video of my center speaker going crazy, hoping that you have an idea of what to check to fix it.

Does the 8.8" fit a facelift (2013) A5 too? I don't see the noise isolator as an accessory anymore, is that not needed?

I told you my year of car in the notes when I buyed and in e-mail, but it was not made so it fitted properly.. I had to just put it in somehow and it fitted.. But yes, I think I got the wrong one even when I informed good what year my car was.

I don't have pictures, but I kind of just stuffed it in the space behind the camera. I think I will end up modifying its position later because it isn't facing the vent hole the way it sits at the moment.

Help needed on AutoPlay (USB dongle) : How do you persist the setting to “Allow the app to access the usb device”?

It keeps asking me after boot up on a daily basis.

Just confirmed Band 20 Support is doable with current hardware by the mean of a software update.

I have no idea why the dongle maker is not fixing this issue forever. For myself, I just deactivated auto start and just run autoplay app when needed. Also, press ok two times and reconnect usb again... Sigh.

Right, I was suspecting it’s the dongle issue. It’s abit annoying but not end of the world.

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Yes and no.
It has the normal bluetooth module, but we refitted the software to support A2DP sink, HFP sink as a 'receiver'.
It's why we are yet to support OBD II perfectly as we are the pioneers who is doing this approach.
Nevertheless, when we allow normal BT & A2DP(music) sink at the same time, there will be too much interference and music quality issue as the rf gets too crowded.
So, what I am telling you is, no it won't stay connected like normal BT as our custom app will constantly kill the normal BT requests in order to use most of the RF for A2DP, HFP,
but we are also exploring the option of allowing the both with minimal loss. So, it may be possible in future firmware, but not now.

Beside the problem you mentioned... is the device working great with your ride in Singapore? Which unit are yours? A4 7" or 8.8"?

    thanks.

    Hi hi bro,

I bought the 7" MMI 3G model, which is the only screen size made available for RHD. Engaged an audio installer to fix it up for me within 2 hours below $100.

Yes it works well in Singapore. I'm an Android noob, so it took me awhile more to figure out how to use. 4G/LTE Starhub tick, Carplay tick, Android Auto (with some tinkering", audio via MMI AUX tick, Spotify tick, Waze/Google map tick, GPS location is generally ok, but jumps around from time to time around.

The UX is smooth and feels fast, though it could further be polished to the Audi new UI.

Did my first firmware upgrade over the weekend, phew it was a smooth process which took 25 mins.

    Thanks,
    Jasman

I've uploaded a video of it here.

In a separate issue, I'm a little disappointed with how little integration there is with the MMI. As I understand it there's really no reason why we couldn't make better use of more of the MMI buttons on the center console. I made this thing:

    Notably:

    - A bunch of buttons are unused. They just switch over to the MMI interface which you'll very rarely want to do. It would be much more useful to tie a media player app to the "media" button, for instance. Or a podcast player to the "radio" button or something. Alternatively they could all map to function keys like F13, F14 etc., and then Android could map those to app launchers.

    - The prev/next buttons could easily map to the standard skip back/fwd media keys, allowing basic control of the current media player without using the touch screen.

    - Left/right isn't enough to control most apps, but adding up/down would make a huge difference. And since those buttons aren't used for anything anyway, well...

    - Home and app switcher buttons are obviously useful. Currently there is no way to return to the home screen from e.g. Google Maps without either reaching over to touch the screen or exiting Maps altogether with the "return"/Back button.

It would of course be extra awesome if everything could be configured per application. E.g. when the foreground app is Google Maps the left and right keys aren't useful, so if instead the center encoder was mapped to menu+I and menu+O, you could use the encoder wheel to zoom in and out, similar to how the regular MMI navigation works.

I'd be happy to help with some of this, but the way it seems to be implemented, it involves changes to the MCU firmware. Source code for the Android system image isn't enough.
@Daniel: Did you got some answers from your devs about this?

This is no magic. You can also do like this if you get it installed properly (and, if and only if we send you perfectly working device... I feel sorry for few who got a defective unit)

BTTF title is played over Android Auto's USB sound transfer so the music quality is much more superior. The smartphone mirrored music video is the Bluetooth music streaming to RSNAV device.
