    Got a beta.
Mostly fine, but few glitches like that power button. So we wait.

Navi app is customizable (no icon change), and there are three more customizable icons.

On the left side, there are dots swipe up for brighter and down for dim.

Power button turns off the screen(just screen only)

10.25 inch will be the same but weather widget on the right.

Wanted to support custom widget for 10.25" right side this time, but Mr. Teng, our soft. Eng.', says 'eh..... later, later'.

Nice interface! When do you estimate it will be available for 7"?

If Mr. Teng's mood is fine, probably next morning.
If not, only the god would know.(and Mr. Teng).

Depends what you want. I ran mine under the gear selector, then extended the USB cable into the middle console so I can have my phone connected to Android Auto. Much better than reaching into the glove box every time I get in and out of the car to be honest!

    Hey,
Curious because I also wanted to route the cable the same way to the center console. Did you have to remove the center console in order to do this?

Negative. You need to pop up the gear surround, and underneath you'll find two bolts which hold the ashtray on. You can lift that up to easily route the USB and in my case 3.5mm cable to the gear surround area. Then you need to remove the rear vent and tube. Simple matter of then tying the cords to a long piece of stiff plastic/yellowtongue and passing it through to the back. Took about 5 mins and it's really straight forward.

There's a tutorial somewhere that shows you how to remove the centre console and those are the only two parts you need to do. Lift up shifter surround, and remove rear vent.

EDIT: Forgot one thing. You do need to punch a hole into the centre console if you do this. If you have the 3.5mm aux in the centre instead of the AMI in the glovebox, you'll need to drill a new hole through. If you have AMI in glovebox instead of 3.5mm in centre console, then you can punch through the space where the 3.5mm aux usually goes.

Any update re the 8.8” version? Just skimmed through this thread and I’m not seeing anything.

Daniel, have you scrapped this version altogether?

    An update would be great!

Ever wondering why the update is not coming?

The second beta came in like this.
Icon positions are misaligned after making 4 icons customizable.
Also, the power button is still big and ugly.
+ BT guys sent us BT BLE firmware, so need to integrate it.

Every single thing... I have to check.. Every single thing....

    Update
    M8.Q5.1.0.1.03131630 North America only

2018.03.13: UI update, 3 Icons(Media, Aux1, Browser) fully customizable(Long press to assign an app to the icon), one icon(Navi) customizable function(Long press to assign an app to the icon), Updated and added home screen car images, added a screen off button(tap 'twice' to turn the screen off) and brightness control bar(swipe to adjust, left 5 grey dot area)), Added temperature unit option to realsun settings, and stability improvement.

DO NOT UPDATE WITH WRONG REGIONAL FIRMWARE, IT WILL BREAK YOUR MODEM AND BLUETOOTH.

So, European firmware is coming up next, and 10.25" and 8.8" as well in next few days.

Why America First? Because Trump is the president. Live with it! (Joke) Just because I have an American Audi, and all beta comes first for my car.

Nice you included a Facelift Avant png!
So these three, along with "Navi", are the 4 customizable icons? More than enough.
Just one question, will the triangle-circle-square bottom menu always be visible in UI? That would be a huge plus!

Nope. IT will be the full system software update.

    Let me explain.
Everything about android(what you see in android) is in the system software,
MCU is like device drivers in windows. It has something to do screen resolution, PDC, RearCAM, Power management which is not part of the android.
CANBUS is self-explanatory. Barely get updated unless there is a problem.

Also, the very reason, I delay the release of the system software, again and again, is that
I don't want to update over 1GB software package every time we fix small things.
I am trying to produce 'acute patch' like we update only the APK that was affected by a change, but our source code sever's encryption is preventing that for me... err!!!

Parking line is about CANBUS and MCU, and hasn't been updated,
and for the slider, just keep swipe(press, hold, swipe down or up).
