Anyone applied december´s update patches (7 in)?
I´m happy with my current performance and not sure if it´s worth.

I have a few questions that I have not found discussed anywhere in the three RSNAV threads:
    - what are the key differences between different units (RSA-10203, RSA-12series, RSA-7series)?
    - is it just the screen size and aspect ratio?
    - what are the screen resolutions of the different versions?
    - are updates applicable to all units equally?
    - are all units supported equally in the future?
    - if there will be an Android 7.0 update, will it be an option for all series?
    - are all displays the same technology, and/or are some having more of a glare issue in bright daylight if not recessed?

Lastly, there is some contradiction in the website description:
    - the webpage for the 7series says that:
"Android Navigation Head Unit for Audi A4/S4/A5/S5 B8, B8.5 (8K, 8T) for Audi Concert/Symphony Radio (Not for 2G/3G MMI infotainment system)"
    - however, the dropdown selector offers the option <7" Q5 3G MMI High Plus(HN+)>, which would be the configuration required in my 2013 Q5 ... what is correct now?

Any pointers and advice would be highly appreciated to help my narrow my decision and put in an order with Daniel ... looking forward to your thoughts/advice.

    Cheers,
    Georg

Thanks for the pointer but as far as I searched through the RSNAV website, it does not have any information about screen resolutions other than ONE image for the 10.25 version showing a resolution of 1280x480
    https://rsnav.com/products/10-25-and...=8320697565287

All other descriptions only show sizes in terms of inches but not resolution.
Heard from one other member in another thread that the 7in series had 1024x600 - but not listed/confirmed on RSNAV web either.
I'd be interested to know if the 10.1 version is also 1024x600 (seems to have at least the same aspect ratio).

    Why is that?
When running RSNAV and apps there, there are no crashes.
And when AUDI then crashes as in the video.

It's the dongle software doing that in background. Update autoplay to latest version.

This is just saying audi original display is not there. Rsnav can not fake as audi original display. This happens with all aftermarket systems.

You have the text, on this not immediately understood, that such a same mistake. But as said above, this error will be "Rsnav can not fake as audi original display".

Is there any installation information or updated info on how to install the rsnav unit into the Audi A3? Bunch of information, but looks for a4 specifically which looks to be a completely different unit all together then what I have.

Hi Daniel, thank you for your exhaustive work on making and refining the RSNav systems.

    I'm about to buy a 2014 Q5 TDI w/NAV and B&O.

Other than screen size and hazard light button location, are there processor/functional differences between the 10.1 and 10.25 units?
I much prefer the hazards being under the display as in the 10.25, but the price difference between the two is a big deal to me right now...

Finally, what is the functional effect of the RAM/ROM upgrade on daily tasks, assuming there aren't a lot of user-added programs cluttering things up? Do you think the RAM/ROM upgrade will be necessary to future-proof the system for Android updates, or will the processor ultimately be the limiting factor?

So I installed my head unit last week and got through a bit of testing. Most of my apps that I used in the past on other Android head units seem to work fine, on Pandora is giving me a headache right now.
Whenever I try to play a song/station I hear a blip of music and the app pauses again - just like something tells it to pause ... I'm puzzled - went through all possible settings, cleared cache, cleared data, completely re-installed ... to no avail.
Does anyone else have similar issues?
Spotify runs fine - it's just Pandora the seems to be resisting to play anything ... any ideas? pointers?

I just purchased and installed my Audi A3 Rsnav unit from AliExpress. I seen the other day on YouTube about a 7.0 Android update, but if the patch was prior to 2018, the unit is fake!! Low and behold I have 2016 on the patch thing.

So this store on AliExpress is not rsnav, even tho I confirmed with them the unit, the wiki, etc?

Can someone confirm as I need to return this asap if so.

    It's RSnav. Don't worry.
It's our android 6.0 device and soon you will get the update.

The point was Android 7.1 or Android 7.0 with security patch of 2016 is fake.

Android 6.0 with dec.2016 patch is not fake.

Also, if you are kind, please remove the ali store address from your post as I don't want this thread to be removed due to indirect advertising.

The Ali one is now maintained by a young beautiful lady who just graduated from a university, and by no mean, she'd tell a lie, if not she's mistaken or uninformed.

Just reporting back here from what I found out so far:
    - did a full factory reset
    - just added google account to access play store - nothing else
    - installed pandora
    - app works as expected

So there must have been one of the other things I installed or a setting I changed that may have messed with Pandora - I have few suspects that I will try to track
    - could be one the bluetooth settings - as bluetooth sometime sends play/pause signals (I had both bt connections established - RSNAV and MMI)
    - could be the launcher I installed (SmartLauncher 5.0), but I'd be surprised why this interferes as I use the same on a tablet
    - I also suspected the steeringwheel/MMI button control module at some point, but I believe I can exclude this now as a culprit

Will report again once I have definite answer what caused the issue - documenting here in case others search for similar things.

My 7” RSA took its last breath. The screen flickered between a fully black screen and the main screen.

I made the decision to retire the RSNAV and revert everything back to stock after a year of ups and downs. A great effort by Daniel and had fun

    Hello everyone!!

I have the 7” version in a car that had the concert stereo original with single zone climate control.
I have a couple questions and observations.

    1) none of the stereo buttons control any of the RSNAV. I just want to make sure this is the intended operation of it.

    2) the temperature on the Audi HVAC setting doesn’t match what’s on the RSNAV screen. I’ve updated to the current version of what’s on the RSNAV wiki page, but it’s still off. Is there any way to fix this?

    3) I have the single zone climate controls. On the Audi screen the setting show on the left, but in the RSNAV it’s showing a two zone climate setting with both left and right settings. Is there any way to adjust this as well?

    1) Yes, concert radio controls are not supported. It's inaccesible over can bus.

    2) we know of the buh and fixed in 11.28 firmware but the firmware flawed in another so has to be next update to fix all.

    3) we also know of that and investigating.

    Note:
Samsung latest model with BT 5.0(e.g. Galaxy S9) has known bug of poor Bluetooth sound streaming quality when the phone is connected to Bluetooth Low Energy Device at the same time of streaming music.
It's not RSNAV, but it's a Samsung problem. Thus, if you use BT BLE OBD II dongle in your car, ditch it for BT classic like Veepeek.

I don’t mind the price difference, I just much prefer the screen size for my B8.5 A4 with 3G+. I would prefer a setup similar to what Daniel has in his A4.

I thought I may ask a question here, as it relates to the thread title. I am looking to add a 10.25 Android unit to my 2009 Audi A4 Avant (non-MMI Symphony) and torn between:
    RSNAV (https://rsnav.com/collections/frontp...-q5-sq5-3g-mmi)
    and
    4x4Shop (https://4x4shop.ca/product/audi-a4-1...sb-multimedia/)

They seem very similar. The 4x4shop one does have a 8Core 4GB RAM /64GB version that seems interesting. But it seems Daniel here is quite active and hands on to help things with the RSNAV version.
I guess I am wondering if anyone has tried them both and could say the real differences between the two products.

@heymatey nothing but resolution is 1024 x 600 with aspect ratio 16:9 which is more eye comforting.
10.25" is expensive because the display panel is IPS(wide angle view) but personally I don't like extra wide screen. I wish we could offer the better screens, but really automotive LCD's are way expensive compared to regular LCD, and usually their brightness is twice bright to fight off the sun glare. So, 10.1 is always the winner in my personal opinion. But, indeed it's a bit exaggerated look compared to market trending tablet look.

@milk_man I wish I could offer the 10.1 inch for A4, but it has been discontinued(can't get any more plastics).

    RSNAV (https://rsnav.com/collections/frontp...-q5-sq5-3g-mmi)
    and
    4x4Shop (https://4x4shop.ca/product/audi-a4-1...sb-multimedia/)

They seem very similar. The 4x4shop one does have a 8Core 4GB RAM /64GB version that seems interesting. But it seems Daniel here is quite active and hands on to help things with the RSNAV version.
I guess I am wondering if anyone has tried them both and could say the real differences between the two products.
I am also curious about 4GB/64GB version, and how good is that. Somebody should buy it and let us know.
Well I know which Chinese company made it and I could get easily if I want, but hesitating to do so as last time when I was testing their product for analysis it blew up climatronic fuse leaving the blower fan at max rpm even if the ignition is off. It's not like a I am mocking someone else's work, but I am just telling what happened. Personally I am against drawing power from climatronic unit as such overdrawing could result like a blown fuse. To be fair, our's also have a weakness against jumping battery that if you've connected brown wire for camera powering, rarely, backward surge can make the unit bricked. I'd love to solve it, but that brown wire is not only output but it's input/output so making a damper there is really hard .. so just try not to empty out your battery and always keep the battery condition pristine.

Eventually, by the end of this year, we'd transiting to another level - expect to have A72 Arm cores at least and offer Android 8.1 on 4/6GB ram and 128GB or PCI-E for SSD. But for now, I'd rather concentrate iron out little annoying bugs first now e.g. losing parking guideline from time to time.

Anyway, 4GB/64GB ram sounds tempting and I'd love to someone else trying.

    Hi Daniel!!
This didn’t fix the Fahrenheit display for me.
It’s more predictable and is generally 4 degrees higher than the stock reading. (Rsnav states 70, Audi states 66)
For the most part one click on the Rsnav equals one click up in the stock interface until you get to 79 then when you click up it goes back to 77. Then it’s only one degree over the stock interface.
The rsnav also stops at 63 degrees as it’s lowest point.

It’s closer and more predictable than it previously was, but it’s not quite there yet.

This is for the 7” with a concert base stereo.

Hi All, doesn't anyone have issue with the 3G/4G signal? I'm getting poor 3G or 4G signal in wide open area. All the antenna are put either on Dashboard or Windscreen. Any suggestion or recommendation? Thanks.

In this case, you need to make a flash from recovery.
As the Developer Resources mentions, firstly you need a notebook and a MALE-MALE USB cable to connect the notebook and the unit USB port.

There is a manual, and some downloads that you need in the wiki (drivers, flash tool, and the recovery firmware). To install the drivers, you need to boot Win10 in special mode to allow legacy/unsigned drivers.
Follow the manual, then it's easier than it seems. Once the notebook with the drivers and flash tool detect a special boot mode in the unit, you could flash with recovery firmware the unit. Them need to press the Reset unit button in form of it and woila! boots correctly and can follow next steps to update CAN and MCU.
I think I am going to need to do this. I tried to apply the latest update and am stuck on the warning screen.

I would like to request the wiki page and Google drive where updates are located be reorganzied. A lot of the folders and names are not intuitive. It should be laid out by model (7", 8", 10") > hw version > region.

Has anyone recently recovered theirs using the MT6745 tool? I can see the ports when it boots (i am stuck on the warning screen) but when i go to download using the tool nothing happens. Do you really need to pull the white plug and reconnect?

    Thanks.
