Any one have an input on this issues I been having since the latest update. My unit does it's own thing from time to time. I posted a video below so you can see what I mean.

Only way to get it to stop is to reboot the unit. I get this like once every ride.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have some experience repairing mobile devices. And usually this failure occurs because:

• The touch screen is dirty, has sweat or humidity. (approximately 90% of cases). The solution is turn off the screen. Then simply clean it properly and turn on the screen again.
• Defective touch screen. (4% of cases) The solution is obviously to replace the touch module.
• Software errors / Motherboard (1% of cases) extremely unlikely
  

I have not bought the rsnav unity yet, but..
I'm almost sure you can solve your problem by following the first solution on the list.

Yes you should be able to.

Go-to the realsun settings for volume.

There should be a dialer as an app as well.

Don't think the FM chip is enabled on these units, so no.

Sound quality seems the same to me.

Seems there is EMI noise interfering with I2C Touch interface, could be poor ground or statics.

To identify the cause, let's do the elimination method
remove shipping screen protector, wipe with slightly alcohol wet tissue to remove any residual statics.
Please note that there are two levels of shipping screen protectors - the primary shipping protector which is clearly noticeable with bubble, and beneath it there is another layer of clear protector which is very clear and glaring. This 2nd level has to be carefully picked up by something sharp such as niddle. remove one layer by layer see if it get fixed.

Please report back after you do this.

Daniel I spent some time with an Audi engineer looking at the fault codes in VAGCOM VCDS, we followed your "possible solution" as per your Wiki information. The error comes back directly after resetting the fault code in the control module and not through autoscan clearing of codes.

I think you have CANBUS problem. In general, yes, our canbus decoder is erratic, but what you have there is too much.
Please disconnect the canbus bypass and check if all the connection is rigid. In few posts earlier there was a case that CANBUS bypass pin was maligned.
Just having conductivity is not sufficient but visually clearly inspect the bypass sockets.

It may be a good idea to check your parking brake controller 8K0 907 801 E is good.
We sold about 300 units so far, and only 3~4 had the parking brake related issue.

If I were your technician, I'd verify CANBUS line that the parking brake is tapping on as well as the PBC and do conductivity test.


As B8 and B8.5 are getting older, there are so many troubles coming on, for example, for my 2010,
the parking guideline died all of the sudden like few others and at the same time my driver front, and rear door lock actuators died.
Well, rear door lock actuator was bizarre for a long time, but two days ago parking guideline died, and the front driver door lock actuator died.

I also will continue to investigate further on this issue, but we should consider that the car itself could have some problems developing.

Do we have any timeline for a fix regarding the parking lines? Annoying that it worked at one point and suddenly stops. I'm not sure I agree "the car is old" as being the problem.

I am not saying parking line is 'the car is old', but parking brake may be.

Parking line is, as i said, more frequent problem but yet to identify the cause.

I see, at least for mine, there is angle sensor issue on the steering.

We are concerned of everything here and never forget any, but some things are not easy to solve.

Drove all day yesterday no issues after removing the second screen protector and cleaning.

No idea there was a second screen protector never noticed it haha...
But so far so good

I'm trying to update my RSA-10205, but it wont work.
I have copied the update.zip to the root of the TF-Card that followed with the RSNAV and push the TF-Card in and out and get the prompt, I push the password "888666" and it stands "Android rebooting" and then it comes nr.1 just some miliseconds before nr. 2, when nr.2 comes I cant choose anything with the buttons or if I try to touch the display.
What am I doing wrong? Yes I have download the one with the correct resolution and region(I live in Norway). In case you guys wonder, this is the one: B8(RSA-10XXX, RSA-70XXX) 1024x600 Resolution, Region Europe (LTE BAND 1,3,7,38,39,40,41):*M8.Q5.1.0.1.04021839
Please help me, I should have got this fixed before i travel, thats 3 days to.

Do you have the vehicle running while you are applying the update? it needs to be on so the power isn't interrupted.

This has happened to me a few times, just keep trying till it takes. Try downloading the update file again and put in on the SD card and try again.

You should see an android fella with "android updating". It will also restart a few times. Just let it do its thing till it boots.

But. When the mac is finished downloading, it unzippes the file automatically. So I have to zip it again with the built-in zip program from Apple and then move it to the TF-Card. I tried in every single way, it would not work.
Now I tried it with a normal Windows 10 Pro machine, and that don't unzip it automatically, so I just moved it to the TF-Card as guided, and now the Android dude is working hard.
So Mac from Apple was the problem.
But still, thank you guys for the tips and help.

The only logical problem here is the cable as the CANBUS software on the RSNAV unit wont control the info going into the CANBUS if I'm correct. It only reads the info and then converts it into what ever app needs it.

I want to note that VCDS cannot be error free unless you put original AUDI LCD back and our device removed. I just want to clarify otherwise i will be bombarded with emails how to make vcds look clean.

Also, Audi technicians does not use VCDS, but ODIS.

Finally, I have to tell that your case is an isolated case where majority of people do not have parking brake issue, and only two out of 300+ were reported.

Please do not generalize as if pbc issue is common.

I would say parking guideline malfunction is common, but not to your case.

I have still doubt that your parking brake controller may be defective.

Once I had someone complains alternator noise since installation of our device, i warned him possible pcv valve issue, but he ignored and then his timing jumped with pcv valve failure along with the tensioner failure.

I believe in this product and I also try and help out on the wiki where I can with suggestions and help out on the forums, I expect the same and not a finger pointing to other problems. Only reason why I haven't been promoting your product in South Africa is because if I can't even get good support from you with my problem. How would I be able to assist my customers?

So this is a new bug for me. Started the car and it went through the boot. Screen was blank except for the time and such in the upper right. About five minutes later the screen came on. Anyone else have this happen?
