It's nice to see this launcher in our native languages.
There is a common problem during translation... the English words are quite short (have few characters), compared to other languages.
For example the right traslation to the strings "Navi & Setting" is "Navegación y Configuración". These are exaggeratedly big words and do not fit properly in the launcher main screen.
For this especial case I have chosen to use the words "GPS & Ajustes" (perfectly valid and professional-looking words)

DANIEL....i don't like left roll (steering whell) utilization. it's better previously...now do right left..stop
in future...can make it configurable? so we can find the right way.....

I live in germany. Here is lte band 20 very important. Unfortunately I can find the lte band20 in the specifications of unit 8.8".
Is this an actually status? Or will be following a update of the lte modem?

Woo I got my unit now. And it works, kinda. Screen comes on, I can navigate with MMI buttons, etc., and the Audi menu comes up too.

But the car won't start. :( I get a bunch of faults with I turn on the ignition: parking brake, ESC, tyre pressure etc., and the engine stops after a second or so.

If I remove the CAN connector the car works fine, so I'm guessing it's a CANBUS problem. But how would I troubleshoot it?

If we find a way to be recognized by tasker we can do different things depending on the active application . So far, I have not succeeded ....

I would PM or email Danial directly. Something isn't right at all. When i installed mine, I did not have issues like you are describing.

I just read this and I think your canbus bypass is physically disconnected. get a multimeter and check the bypass if every wire is alive and sounds good.

It's not supposed to prevent your car starting at all. all your symptom seems there is some open circuit in various canbus lines, such as driving system canbus.

FYI, we don't touch driving system CANBUS at all. we only tab on Convenience(climate) canbus as well as some auxiliary CAN and LINBUS.

All your symptom sounds like driving system CANBUS is disrupted somehow. check for any bent pins.

Just the canbus. Leave the acc wire alone, do not touch it.

Canbus is needed so the rsnav can communicate with the car and to the OEM camera.

Bingo! Well sort of:



The pin wasn't bent but it wasn't fully inserted. The little tab that holds it in the connector wasn't protuding properly to hold it in place. I adjusted it and now the car works. Yay.

Sorry I can't say if it is a QC issue from the factory or if I just mangled it too much. But I should have noticed it, so my fault either way.

Anyway, problem solved. Now to put everything back together and figure out where all those other cables go. :)

Can't get audio to work. I've already enabled AUX input in the MMI green menu and selected AUX as media input, but I'm still only getting input from the glove box AMI connector.

I'm guessing because the car had AMI installed already it's somehow set up to use a different input as AUX, because it doesn't matter what settings I choose for AMI or AMI BT.

Unless I'm missing something obvious, I think at this point the easiest thing to do would be to insert a female audio jack on the RSNAV wire harness and connect that to the AMI input. Does anyone have a pinout for it?

Never mind, found both the pinout in the wiki and the line out jack on the back of the RSNAV. Bit too late though, so now I have a spare audio output. Meh.

It seems everything is working now.

Nope, our android units are not certified.
The certification standard is stupid that it requires 'Camera' for 'tablet' and they don't have the certification category of 'car head unit'.

So none of the Android-based head units is 'certified'.

Nevertheless, this does not mean that we are no longer accessible to Gapps, but everyone needs to register android ID with Google at least once.
If our firmware's build date go beyond 2018-03-16, we are going to see the warning and need to register android ID individually.

This is a quite stupid move for Google as if they are trying to control a free market, which, in turn, the move could shrink the dominant status of Android platform.

So, who said 'don't be evil?'

Anyway, we will do what we can do with this stupidity, but if any of you confront this, just register android ID with google. I will upload tutorial if it happens.

I am just wondering how Google would certify billions of individual android units from now on.

We need to see how it goes.

System reset from realsun setting unlikely solve that matter... See of any dtc comes up and clear it out.
