RS3 US Production Numbers

I asked the Audi USA for the US production numbers for the RS3 and I was given some awesome information. Audi USA on this forum was able to provide me with the 2017 numbers and then Audi USA Customer Service were able to provide me the 2018 numbers. I'm not sure when the 2018 numbers were pulled, but I received the email from them today.

Unfortunately I don't have information on the 2018's as of yet but there are 165 2017 RS 3 Sedan 2.5T quattro S tronics produced for sale in the United states for 2017.

I won't be able to provide the feature breakdown but I do have the exterior color breakdown:

Ara Blue Crystal Effect: 33
Catalunya Red Metallic: 18
Daytona Grey Pearl Effect: 31
Glacier White Metallic: 17
Mythos Black Metallic: 33
Nardo Gray: 33

These numbers portray the production numbers for models built for the U.S. market:

• 223 MODEL YEAR 2018 AUDI RS 3 SEDAN 2.5T QUATTRO S TRONIC MODELS SOLD IN THE U.S
• 27 MODEL YEAR 2018 AUDI RS 3 SEDAN 2.5T QUATTRO S TRONIC MODELS WITH MYTHOS BLACK METALLIC EXTERIORS SOLD IN THE U.S
• 19 MODEL YEAR 2018 AUDI RS 3 SEDAN 2.5T QUATTRO S TRONIC MODELS WITH MYTHOS BLACK METALLIC EXTERIORS AND BLACK W/CRESCENDO RED STITCHING INTERIORS SOLD IN THE U.S

I thought I would share this information as someone might be as curious as I was about the US production numbers. If the numbers were pulled as of today then there are 388 MY17 and MY18 RS3s that have been sold in the US. I wonder how many of these are actually on the road right now.

That seems crazy low, possibly 500ish for North America maybe ? Here in Vancouver there sure seems to be a disproportionate amount of them.

Yes 2017's barely made it here, thinking they could be the lowest product rs models in the US for one year

It was supposed to be One for each US dealer to do the launch event in the U.S. But they sat at ports for months due to EPA clearence and the 2018’s almost beat them to the dealers. So there was no official launch. Some dealers (Audi Sport and Magna) ended up getting 2 or 3 of these 2017's while some dealers didn’t get any.

Given this information it seems like there are still units being produced for the 2018 MY? I just placed an order at my local dealer last Saturday, they said they could get another and it would likely be here early next year. I'm still a bit worried though that I might not get one for a long time.

Considering they are still taking orders for 2018's, the numbers for 2018 are just a snapshot of completed vehicles for the US market, and that number is going to increase

That is nuts. Especially since Silver is like the MOST popular car color. Floret Silver RS3 w BO would be pretty badass, especially w a nice tint.

So far I've seen one on AZ and another on the 8V A3/S3/RS3 FB Group both in Silver & BO. That's my color combo I'll choose, with White & BO behind that. Too many Nardo cars now

They were sold in 2018 amongst all of the other colors. However, the non-customer ordered, factory pre-configured 2017 Launch Editions only came in the 6 colors above.

Ah that would explain it then. I just figured that silver was MY17 color as well.

This is why i didn't obt for the nardo as i thought i would be too um say trendy or at least i thought everyone was going to jump on it.

It would be interesting to see the Canadian number on colour choices. Currently i haven't seen another Panther Black RS3, or heard of other ones which im sure some do exist.

Panther Black is not an available option in the US. At least I don't think it is.

I'm 1 out of 33 Ara Blues 2017 RS3s.. interesting if this is accurate info. My dealer also had a white 17 RS3 which appears to be way more rare. Last I heard they dealer traded it.

No the panther black isn't available to US unless you order custom. That's why i mentioned it would be interesting in seeing the Canadian RS3 colour sales.

Not sure of production numbers but last Saturday, at an Audi event, there were 4 RS3's from this area. I also know of 2 others from this area with RS3's and I'm sure there are more. Those production numbers seem pretty low.

Still haven't seen one on the road in Baltimore, but I know there are a few out there. Mine will be one more in the Baltimore/DC area in another week or two (Daytona Gray w/ alu-optics)

Edit: And then it may be 250 now.. considering Audi's banner that says 1 of 250 for the 2017 owners.. I would rather believe it's 250, seems way more realistic.

Not sure.. I just know that I want my 2017 RS3 "Debut" kit.. I bet my dealer shafted me on it and never submitted info that I purchased one to Audi corporate.

Will be a beautiful looking car!

I was told at my dealership, which is one of the, if not THE largest in Toronto that they have an allocation of 25 vehicles for 2018 model year.
I wonder what that translates to for a total 2018 production run for Canada and the US.

I have a 2017 and just received my "RS3 exclusive gift" box from Audi today which included a "1 of 250" license frame and matching key ring. Why would the Audi USA contact say there were 165 2017s while they produced these commemorative items if the production numbers were actually much lower?

According to the OP's info, there weren't anymore Nardo produced than Mythos. Therefore, your argument for why Nardo is seen more is pretty misguided. I would've gladly paid $600 more for Nardo but it's free because it's the RS color.

It seems 60% of forum orders were nardo. This does not include 2017 since Audi picked the options and delivered them to dealers.

I guess we drive in different parts of town ... I've yet to see a single other RS3 on the road save for a white dealership demo. I've heard reports of another Nardo running around tho.

Glad to here there's one it would be nice to see in person the colour on the car. Could be i usually stick to the southside. Maybe we will cross paths one day.
