The 4Ē anti surge inlet really makes it a pain to route piping for it. I will probably need to redo it so I can get some pipe before the MAF. Right itís just filter, MAF, and elbow. Ideally I believe 6Ē is pretty standard, pretty sure Adam can confirm. Iíll probably route under the frame rail and into the bumper/fenderwell area

Very happy to hear that the time is nearing! Maybe ask for a 1st startup vid ?

I'm chasing down some demons myself, having some weird timing issues after replacing both cams with brand new units. I have some mechanical interference, which feels like a valve is hitting a piston. I can't get my crank pulley to rotate fully without getting hung up on something.

I've consulted with Adam prior to and after the repair and he is helping me out still, his advice and guidance has been invaluable. Can't thank him enough!

Let me know if you need more help!! Yeah Adam is a beast for sure man.

Double check with your timing tool for cam to cam timing and the timing marks behind the belt. Something has to give!

His motor was decked too much by the machine shop and he didnít have enough piston gap. He was hitting valves.

Edit: Never mind. I thought you were asking Mike.

Valves actually all made it through, somehow... the pistons were hitting the quench pads. I had the head taken apart, all valves inspected, seats cleaned up, and .00025 milled off to be safe. Also ground out the quench pads.. just gonna send it at this point and see what happens.

Got about 50 miles on it so far, exhaust was barely rubbing the cross brace under the trans tunnel area. Yanked that out, should be good for more break in today

Will do! Thanks for offering to help if needed.

I'll open it up again tomorrow and start from scratch with the timing, having to remove the factory gasket sealant under the cam tower should be fun.. again..

Hopefully, I'll find out tomorrow. If I pull the cams and it is still getting hung up on something, I'll know its a mechanical issue in the block. What is strange though is, the car was running perfectly fine prior to me servicing the head. I never pulled the head or touched anything in the block, besides replacing the oil filter housing adapter. Even boroscoped each cylinder in case I managed to have dropped something in there, nothing. I'm 99.9% sure I did the timing correctly on the rear timing chain and tensioner and 100% sure I set the timing correctly on the front belt side.

I am quite at a loss at the moment..

So far have logged 175 successful miles on it. Downpipe is rattling against the trans crossmember pretty bad, will have to sort that out quickly. Made it to cars and coffee at ECS this morning which was awesome. Also filled up before coming home and had to solve a fuel leak... luckily the wiring pass through just was never fully tightened when I did the fuel pump and was fixed quickly.

    IMG_0649.jpg

Cars running at about 6 psi on this current tune. Looking to get a new base file compatible with the larger maf housing and do some logging and continue break in process. The exhaust sounds nasty. All in all solid progress.

Now for some pics, washed and waxed it at about 10pm last night
