    DC Area Detailing

Anyone have recommendations for a good detailer in the DC area? Looking for general interior cleaning, and some touch ups and correction for the exterior. I live in Arlington and work in Rockville, so anywhere in between. Fairfax and the rest of NoVA is doable as well.

Thanks guys. Some strong endorsements for TLC here, and over on Swedespeed. He seems top, but damn if they aren't spendy!! Also, doesn't seem like they will come to my house? Getting some quotes now. Looks like several good options here.

Don't overlook Speed & Tech Motoring. He has a multimillion dollar insurance policy for every vehicle - because he is constantly working on supercars. He did a phenomenal job on all 3 of the cars I have sent him including a Rolls Royce Ghost.

Oh - and his prices are the cheapest around. I know he does house calls for special clientele, not sure what the $$ looks like though b/c i'm cheap I drop my stuff off. Have referred him to many people, and also used him in my business selling parts that customers want covered in XPEL.

Yea - in the same way that mechanics rarely come to your home to do repairs, Dave and John want to make sure that they have all of the tools/chemicals they need at their disposal, while being able to do the work in a controlled environment vs your driveway. You are 100% correct in that they are expensive, but it's definitely worth it! Also, don't use a shop's insurance policy as a selling point, businesses that work on 6-7 figure calls all need a good plan. I drove by their today to visit (disclaimer - dave is a great friend), and they had a brand new Bentley and an Aston Martin pulling in for some serious work. The 2 UGR Gallardos there a few weeks ago needed some healthy work toO!

At the end of the day, it's a you get what you pay for situation. You can roll the dice and buy something on Groupon (the groupon comment is DEFINITELY not a slight on agautohaus' recommendation as I'm sure his guy is the T!ts too judging by his car), or you can go with people who really care about getting the job done right the first time.

An insurance policy isn't really relevant, a busy shop that is pushing out 10 cars a day could have a million dollar policy, someone doing 1 or 2 two cars a week but spending 40 hours on them could have a million dollar policy. Just look at the work they do, the referrals they get and whether or not you feel comfortable with them when you talk to them.
