Yea - in the same way that mechanics rarely come to your home to do repairs, Dave and John want to make sure that they have all of the tools/chemicals they need at their disposal, while being able to do the work in a controlled environment vs your driveway. You are 100% correct in that they are expensive, but it's definitely worth it! Also, don't use a shop's insurance policy as a selling point, businesses that work on 6-7 figure calls all need a good plan. I drove by their today to visit (disclaimer - dave is a great friend), and they had a brand new Bentley and an Aston Martin pulling in for some serious work. The 2 UGR Gallardos there a few weeks ago needed some healthy work toO!
At the end of the day, it's a you get what you pay for situation. You can roll the dice and buy something on Groupon (the groupon comment is DEFINITELY not a slight on agautohaus' recommendation as I'm sure his guy is the T!ts too judging by his car), or you can go with people who really care about getting the job done right the first time.
