B7 S4 Avant Rear Leg Room?

I was strongly considering swapping out my non-Audi for a B7 S4 (possible Avant) or B8/8.5. My wife DDs the B8 right now and after doing more online research it appears the B7 S4 leg room is pretty similar to a Porsche 911, aka basically non-existent. Is the S4 Avant any different or exactly the same? We don't have kids but we have dogs, 50lbs and 65lbs that would occasionally be in the car as well.

Basically do all B7 S4s severely lack in rear leg room compared to B8s?

Where did you do your research? A messageboard for the blind?

S4 vs 911. They're certainly not comfortable, but unlike the 911 they're actually usable.

It was a bit of exaggeration on purpose. I was shocked by how little leg room there is.

Rear legroom is not brilliant, but adequate. The sedan and Avant have the same amount of legroom.

It's not the best, but with 1-2 inches of the front seats moved up, it's adequate.

They're just small cars - if you want some legroom, try an A6 - they're fine even behind a full-size person in the driver's seat. I'm figuring the A8 is even more generous.

    Legroom, what legroom?

For kids, they'd be fine so long as front seats aren't all the way back. Personally I don't think adults sitting back there for more than a short trip is at all realistic

I'm 6'3 and I have sat in the back of a b6 (same as B7), many times. It's no A8, but it's fine. My B8 S5 is more comfortable in the rear than the B6 though, I'd imagine a B8 S4 would be better.
