Put my winters on today too.

My front summer tires are worn enough that I may need to replace them before doing the first oil change

No 5 O issues with that plate cover?
    Where did you buy it?
    Good for anything beneficial?

The middle still has about 4-5/32 but the inside edges are pretty worn. I can probably get another 2-3k out of them if I really wanted, Iíll keep an eye out for a deal on a takeoff front pair otherwise I may just change all four to something else.

Nope, no issues with the police in my area, been running smoked plate covers for a long time now. I just grab them from the local parts store. I like how the smoked ones cut down the brightness of the white license plate so it doesn't stand out as much.

Wish I had PFF done, but this town has no real talent, that I am aware of.

I opti-coated my former black rings twice, but it wasnt 5 months until the rings went flat and ugly. Sand paper and rattle can fixed it, but bought oem rings and hope they wont have paint issues down the road.

Just got my tires roadforced balanced and found out why one of my tires was leaking air everday badly, volk valve stem guess losts it proper seating after a year + with no issues O.o

Also, each wheel was out of balance, now the car rides like a dream.

I was experiencing left and right floating doing over 65mph and going straight. I was like wtf?! Guy said cuz you have an oversized tire, i said, um they were on my 17R and no issues. Bet not since all 4 were re-balanced, it wont feel like that anymore.

how much torque should I use when tightening the lug nuts?

I've seen both 90 ft-lbs and 90 n-m listed online . The manual doesn't specify what torque to use after changing the wheels.

To be precise it is 88.5 lbs-ft.

I always just do 90 with a 4" extension on there.

No big deal, just back one off at a time and re-do. Then go over all five again.

That has been the torque spec for every 5 lug VW and Audi since at least the MkIV. The actual technical spec is 120 Nm.

Daily tire pressure leakage, car feeling like it's floats L/R at 65+ mph and wheel vibrations were cured with wheel balancing and reseating of one valve stem. Much more of a happy camper now.

Edit: was not the valve stem. Found an inner well lip bend, pulled off wheel, sprayed soapy water at bend area, saw bubbles. The wheel people here insisted on fixing wheel using heat (damaging large area of paint), took a large plastic hammer, beat the crap out of the wheel, got the leak to stop, with minimal paint damage, it's on the inside, so what...

It is actually in the manual. My first run through i didn't see it. Page 364 of the 2018 A3 manual. lists it as 90 ft-lb or 120 N-m
