Question Tackling 275/35-R19 on OEM 9" Wide Wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Who's attempted / tackled 275/35-R19 tires on the OEM 9" wide wheels (either peelers or rotors)?
Looking to see what the meaty bulge would look like as I'm wanting wider contact patch than 255 or even 265.

Curious and interested to see photos, experiences, etc.

I believe all OEM rims are 8.5" in width and not 9". So not sure if anyone would have tried those, as I think, 275 will be too much on 8.5 width rim.

No, s4 peelers and rotors are 19x8.5 but s5's are 19x9.
Op, 275 definitely works if you don't care the fact that the speedo might be off by a little.

Checking against the current factory size I have (245/40-R19) comparing to a 275/35-R19, speedometer change is less than 0.4%.

Thats weird, 245/40/19 is not usually what you have from the factory. You should either have 245/40/18 or 255/35/19.

    You're assuming an A5 / S5; I have a B8.5 Allroad that I'm putting on some S5 OEM Peelers (19x9 et33).

I plan on doing this as well, but with 19x9.5. Hopefully late spring early summer once I switch over to summer mode.

Here's another member who put 275/35 on his 19x9.5 (front only)

    Really love this look.

I ran a 275/35 and there were no issues on the stock Peelers...

Finally pulled the trigger on this...
Mounted 275/35-R19 on the graphite S5 Peelers today.
Should make it on the vehicle by the weekend.

How do they look? I have 20" Double 5 spokes (20x9, Black Optic Plus package) and want to put 275/30's on them. 275 seems to be the absolute maximum width you can put on a 9" wheel, so I'm curious to see how they look on your wheels. What tires do you have?

I have 275/30/20 on 9" wide RS5 rotors. They're 20s, but same width and that's the stock RS5 tire size. So that width is definitely doable on 9" width wheel, that's about the maximum.

Meaty, but not bulging - it protects the wheel but also gives an athletic look to the wheel / tire combo.

Stuck with the Yokohamo ADVAN Sport A/S in the 275/35-R19.

Here's the side by side comparison of the OEM 5-Arm wheels (19x8) with the stock 245/40-R19 next to the OEM S5 Peelers (19x9) with the new 275/35-R19.

Here's the obligatory driveway shots from before and after the installation.
Formal photos, once the weather moves out and I can clean everything, will come shortly thereafter.
